Interesting to see the map of the circuit with the numbering of the corners. Do they need a refresher while driving when changing settings or getting info from the pitwall?

The track map takes ~ zero space or weight. The track map has corner numbers so if the driver forgets the numbering he can quickly glance at the map and then give accurate info to the Engineers over the radio.

During the season I guarantee there will be times in FP when drivers literally couldn't tell you which country they are in. 21 tracks in 21 countries can become a blur.

It looks like the alternating colours divide the track into numbered segments. Makes it easier for the driver to say where he is.
