They are talking bout 900 mm of rain from Typhoon 19. Supposed to clear out by 3 AM Sunday.
Almost 1 meter of rain in a day?
There's something lost in the translation or message there.
Ran into Takuma Sato and joked that you couldn't even run an Indycar here today with their much superior rain tires.
Please don't remind us about those horrible pirelli wets, it's just unbearable. I don't get it how a tyre company as big as pirelli can't make even half decent rain tires???? Just incompetent imo. Raikkonen put it best just days ago: "f1 looks ridicioulus not running in wet conditions".

Nice observation- but Max’s actually ‘crushing’ Bottas in that particular corner, with a higher mid/ corner exit speed.

Just sayin’.
Stop sayin', start proving.
BTW.. here’s some more ‘proof’- going towards Degner.

Just sayin’.

Not to forget Hamilton was 3 tenths faster than Bottas in that first sector of course...

It's almost 11AM and I took a little walk outside my quarters here in Suzuka and the rain and wind is definitely picking up. Bullet trains stopped running and Mie prefecture will get hammered. They are talking bout 900 mm of rain from Typhoon 19. Supposed to clear out by 3 AM Sunday.

Ispano-san was spot on about Ferrari exhaust fumes. I thought who is starting a wood campfire in the Ferrari's pits haha
Wood campfire is the perfect description. The Mercedes works team car smelled like an electrical fire/wire burning.
There are a few chemical compounds that give off those aromas. Must be part of the bio-content in the fuel.

Sure.

Max @ 0:43 - 265kmh

As I said- just sayin’.
A whole 2km/h? Wow, he's really crushing him, isn't he?

Remind me of their respective best lap times...just askin'

So who's crazy enough to stay awake until 3AM then sleep for 3 hours and watch the race 6AM...on a Sunday, what a mess.

There is no other solution though. I'm actually doubtful qualifying will go ahead.

Some trackside clips. Apologies for the unsteadiness. I also actually saw myself in the FP1 highlight reel, that made my day 8)

Does anyone know whether they started reassembling the trackside tech in the few hours they had left saturday (late) evening?

Due to stress I know I won't sleep afterwards, so I'll just wake up one hour before the race and watch Q on replay through F1TV.

It's the perfect time for a race here in the states.
