Anyway, nice work again... This car seems to have best aero, best engine, and now innovative solutions

The only issue is that championship is over. again. And that Mercedes will win. again.
You know all of that after 1 1/2 day of testing? Next week most teams will come with new parts on the car.
The rumor before the testing started was, Mercedes is bringing "A FEW" innovations, which were never seen before. We have seen the first one and the world has gone berserk. We still don't know the impact of adventurous rear suspension that James Allison has spoken about and probably there could be something else too.Jambier wrote: ↑20 Feb 2020, 17:02I'm wondering if it will still be legal in 2021 and use by all teams, or simply banned because then it will be useless.

I wouldn’t say berserk.GPR-A wrote: ↑20 Feb 2020, 17:12The rumor before the testing started was, Mercedes is bringing "A FEW" innovations, which were never seen before. Well, to be fair, we don't know the impact of their DAS either. It's a visible thing and hence it stirs a lot of talk, but no idea what the quantitative gain is as of now.GPR-A wrote: ↑20 Feb 2020, 17:12The rumor before the testing started was, Mercedes is bringing "A FEW" innovations, which were never seen before. yes but in pretty much any sports event there are lots of competitors and only 1,2,3,4 real contenders for the winTAG wrote: ↑20 Feb 2020, 17:54Difficult times in the sport for teams not named Mercedes. I'm on two minds on this; on the one hand it's just the very essence of F1 to innovate in this way, not cheating within the rules where you're not caught but true innovation. On the other hand the sport is at a level where there's not way in hell that a mid or back field team would be able to compete with the engineering resources of a global behemoth like Mercedes.
It's complicated.
Thanks, though, after 6 years of defeats it's not that easy to keep cool as I finally want Ferrari to win.izzy wrote: ↑20 Feb 2020, 15:09you are a very sporting tifosoLM10 wrote: ↑20 Feb 2020, 13:08The longer I think about it the more I get the feeling that Mercedes might get through with that. If that's not specifically regulated then the argument will be that it's just another step forward of their POU solution from last year.
It looks really sophisticated so much so that initially you don't understand how that can be legal. But seems like this team, very unfortunately for me and many others, contains of geniuses being obsessed with innovating.
and yes Mercedes have a seriously hot suspension department atm don't they
Exactly. And the cars' pace were very very similar too for the season. Ferrari just blew it by mistakes and Ham+Merc was just really good.NathanOlder wrote: ↑20 Feb 2020, 15:33Did they really destroy Merc though ? Maybe the first test yes. And then the second test was Mercedes first test with the new car. Fastest laps last year were almost identical. Ferrari were I think 0.003 faster than Mercedes.DiogoBrand wrote: ↑20 Feb 2020, 15:08That's why Ferrari destroyed Mercedes last year after being faster all throughout winter testing.foxmulder_ms wrote: ↑20 Feb 2020, 02:23
rrr. Because you can tell a lot from testing mate. It is actually very much representative for the majority of the teams for the most of the time.
