Well themselves have even more, low 1:14s easily possible on the C5.Restomaniac wrote: ↑21 Feb 2020, 13:11Mercedes have just said ‘come on then you MF’s, what ya got?’.
Super interesting! Got figures like this for any other cars/teams for comparison?Juzh wrote: ↑21 Feb 2020, 12:48One thing I've noticed is how much faster mercedes is in slow corners (could be the case for all cars, but I've been monitoring them the most so far). For example, bottas' 1.16.6 lap he did an hour ago on yellow tires (C3?) had a minimum turn 12 speed of 143 kmh. His pole lap last year (also C3) had a minimum speed of 135 kmh.
Same story in turn 1. Pole lap last year min speed 162 kmh, hamilton yesterday on Hard tires (C2) already at 170 kmh. I'm telling you the mercedes come Q3 will be 1.5s-2s faster than last year.
I've noticed that too. Bottas' T12 is smooth, staying in apex like last year.Juzh wrote: ↑21 Feb 2020, 12:48One thing I've noticed is how much faster mercedes is in slow corners (could be the case for all cars, but I've been monitoring them the most so far). Which is a bad thing for C5 compound! The circuit is also getting more abrasive as the time passes with different cars/bikes from various series' run there.yelistener wrote: ↑21 Feb 2020, 13:13Temperature certainly plays a part in Bottas beating last year's teasting. This year temp is higher than 2019 testing.
Yeah, didnt Stroll push for it a year or 2 ago and Claire/Frank said no.Restomaniac wrote: ↑21 Feb 2020, 13:55Going back to RP who are apparently in the middle of a bun fight with Haas. For me I wonder if the team who should be really cheesed off would be Williams?
A team who’s driver was actually a test driver for Mercedes, was in a worse situation than RP and who look lost. You would think they would get first dibs on a W10 clone?
They're all against the Haas model i think, but it's getting serious now a team with 400 staff are doing it instead of 200Restomaniac wrote: ↑21 Feb 2020, 13:55Going back to RP who are apparently in the middle of a bun fight with Haas. That’s fine and understandable but personally I think more fool them. They are currently in a massive hole and I’m not sure they are in a position to be so ideological.NathanOlder wrote: ↑21 Feb 2020, 14:07Yeah, didnt Stroll push for it a year or 2 ago and Claire/Frank said no.Restomaniac wrote: ↑21 Feb 2020, 13:55Going back to RP who are apparently in the middle of a bun fight with Haas. As far as I know, Williams had their chance and didnt want it. Williams wont do it, its not their way.
Oh I see, must have missed that one.yelistener wrote: ↑21 Feb 2020, 13:25I've noticed that too. Ferrari however still have that similar understeer problem they had last year testing, missing the apex all over the place.
BTW T1 best min speed in 2019 quali is 167km/h from Bottas' Q3 2nd lap.
Oh you’re correct RP were. However new management and all that although that doesn’t stop it bring hypocritical.izzy wrote: ↑21 Feb 2020, 14:12They're all against the Haas model i think, but it's getting serious now a team with 400 staff are doing it instead of 200Restomaniac wrote: ↑21 Feb 2020, 13:55Going back to RP who are apparently in the middle of a bun fight with Haas.
