I'm not sure...Vettel for sure only used Yellow Medium and White Hard all morning long!

But combining his best sector times from the F1 live timing app...i get a 1.17.163! While his best lap was 1.18.113...so he didn't do the purple S3 on his fastest lap!

That looks really interesting...just shows how much teams can hide their true pace if the want to!
Pirelli's info shown above in the thread has Vettel as doing his fastest lap on the C3.
Must be right then! I was looking at the F1 live timing app...

I trust Pirelli more than the F1 live timing app
But how will you then get reliable tyre wear info?

Can imagine what lap times will the top teams do! Unless Alfa's made serious leap forward... or Kubica cut the chicane.
We saw a 1.15.7 first week for Bottas, on low power mode, and not really on the edge.
So we know the Mercedes can do a 1.14.x

Question is : RB and Ferrari can do 1.15.X, but can they enter in 1.14 ?

For other teams, I think they can all be on 1.16.X

RB yes, and Ferrari hopefully also, but they are hiding their potential so its more difficult to know what they can do.

Dutch motorsport.com reported Max posted the 1.18.05 at C1 during and implied it was during a longer C1 run; did he come in to change from C1 to C2 before posting the 1.18.05 lap?

One other aspect of testing that can hide potential lap time is to run to a delta. Running to a delta lap time is extremely informative because if the car has pace to spare, then there are different ways to achieve that lap time. Different engine modes, different places on track to push or back off. This can give you clues as to what the tires are doing, how they wear, how they respond to being pushed or preserved. If you can get the pace by sacrificing speed in some turns but being more aggressive in others. All of that can affect your strategy, how to get the life out of the tires, how to use them for "hammer time" laps. It also has influence in how you can run the power unit, perhaps alternate laps where you push more from the tires but save more fuel by running a lower mode, or where you ask less from the tires and use more fuel.

It's quite windy today going into turn 1, hopefully this gives RB a chance to see if their car is more consistent.

Hamilton went quickest with a 1.16.976 on the C2 Tyre, and was at the start of a 14 lap stint!!!!
And the car looked easy to drive and smooth
This season is done. Merc quite far ahead and RBR is distant second. Ferrari is almost a no show. Alpha, Alfa, Haas and Renault are all pissed off with the Mercedes W10 in the Pink. Good show from Williams and McLaren so far.
Ferrari and RBR to introduce a B-spec car next week. We're not even close to being done.
Have we seen the B-spec cars yet?

Thanks for sharing. But, no the cars are not easily distinguished
