Bahrain and Vietnam are already very hot places
Both countries have confirmed corona cases, and we Europeans can still pass on the virus there.
But according to your statement the virus should go away when it gets warmer! so the virus in bahrain and viatenam should have gone away by now!
I'm just saying what I hear in the news, they say that when it gets warmer the virus doesn't spread that easily, ofcourse that doesn't mean that there is no virus at all. I'm just saying that maybe when it gets warmer in Europe, things settle down a bit in terms of the spread of the virus.

Ok

Still no official announcement from FIA
The countdown in the f1 site shows just 5 hours to the free practice one

Maybe practice will happen, and the race not?

Hm, this seems to indicate everyone is going to have to be ready for it to go on 'as planned' tomorrow/in the morning (apart from McLaren, all teams will have to be up already, I'd guess).

Bit of a shambles, really, letting it happen rather than say yes or no. Oh, right - Joe Saward:

As someone who has been infected and lived through the virus, I can understand why they'd cancel the race. The symptoms are not fun to live with, not deadly for the most part, but definitely not fun. It takes over 2 weeks to beat the infection. In those 2 weeks you'll have a bad cold, fever, nausea, diarrhea, breathing issues. Not fun, the first 3 days of symptoms sleeping is all you want to do but can't because you have intense chills. I had to have the heater on and I live in South Florida, the temperature never gets under 22c. Then you think you're getting better and it comes back with a vengeance. I had to spend the day in a sauna just so I could breathe in round 2. It's been just over 2 weeks and I have my appetite again, I lost nearly 4kg(down to 60kg), lack of energy, shortness of breath.

The race should have been cancelled last month, I feel it is now too late, because the virus has up to 10 days incubation period. Those who are going to get sick have already been exposed. If team personnel have been infected then they'll start feeling it by Bahrain latest.
Nice to hear from a (normal) healthy person how bad it is to get it. Thank you for that.
Everyone is talking about normal flu. This sounds much worse than that!
I hope you soon will regain strength and you feel completely healthy again @godlameroso!

Interesting take by GPBlog ...

"The latest rumour is that the FIA deliberately chooses to let something official be heard about the event. The regulations state that the sponsor can get money back if the event is cancelled before the official inspection times of the cars have taken place."

i suppose at this point all we've had is an unofficial briefing about what the teams have said to each other

That's certainly what Joe Saward is suggesting, and I understand how that goes, but at the same time, it still is a shambles.

thanks. so it could go either way really. Only one actual infection among teams so far, and no-crowd is an option

I bet FOM/FIA/promotors don't want to be the ones who pull the plug - they might hope for the (local) government to call it off
