You mean with 5 Safety cars cutting down 50 sec gap to top 2 and 3 cars breaking down in front and some lucy pitstops in between and a car in front getting penalty? Dont get me wrong, i like Leclerc...but this is not his best raceJordanMugen wrote: ↑05 Jul 2020, 17:41He got 2nd place with the 5th fastest car. That's pretty good stuff.![]()
If you go around the outside, having come in to the corner from behind, it's down to you to ensure you can get around. Hamilton didn't crowd him off.Sevach wrote: ↑05 Jul 2020, 17:43Only if you think overtakes should be completed on the astroturf, Albon was on the curbs already.
Sure! I wasn't implying that by any means. But LEC did a great team leader drive to get the maximum possible points, the same cannot be said for VET in the other scarlet racing car.siskue2005 wrote: ↑05 Jul 2020, 17:44Dont get me wrong, i like Leclerc...but this is not his best race
Stewards disagree and assigned the blame to Hamilton. It is what it is. Nevermind, that's motor racing.
There was space for Albon though:Sevach wrote: ↑05 Jul 2020, 17:40When Albon hanged around the outside, and came out with his front wheels ahead, there was nothing more Hamilton could do, he should've made more effort to leave space.

The main difference with the situation with Verstappen and Leclerc was the location in the corner. Verstappen was on the racing line in the middle of the corner, where he pushed out Charles. Hamilton and Albon were already slightly beyond the exit of the corner when the collision happened, plus Lewis wasn't full lock, but by this point, Albon was on the racing line. Had Lewis backed off, they wouldn't have crashed.

Pretty much, don't worry they will all suddenly disappear when Lewis starts winning again, I've seen this pattern year after yearBill_Kar wrote: ↑05 Jul 2020, 17:42I think we've reached a point where Lewis' haters don't even bother to argue in a semi - logical fashion. They just shout lies.siskue2005 wrote: ↑05 Jul 2020, 17:37Maybe you should watch the onboards againtpeman wrote: ↑05 Jul 2020, 17:36Hamilton did deserve that penalty. It appears you’re jumping in late. ALB was not ahead...at the start of the cornerJordanMugen wrote: ↑05 Jul 2020, 17:45You might want to double-check whose rear wheel (Albon's) was hit by whose front wheel (Hamilton). That suggests Albon was ahead.
AMG.Tzan wrote: ↑05 Jul 2020, 17:51I don't know for sure if Hamilton was on full lock...but at the time i thought so! It's a downhill off camber corner so even if he braked he would have understeered even more onto Albon!
The 5 sec penalty is ok as the stewards were right that he is predominantly to blame for the incident, as he was on the inside!
BUT! Why 2 penalty points?? Isn't it a bit too much??
That is what happens when overtaking cars on the outside into a corner. There’s a reason why it’s more difficult and thus why pretty much every driver with half a brain will defend the inside of a corner. If Albon has the balls to attempt a move on the outside and at the risk if being pushed wide, he is also accepting it. This isnt anything new.Sevach wrote: ↑05 Jul 2020, 17:38Because the guy on the inside, didn't leave space and bumped him, he got punished for it.
