Brundle is the only part of sky coverage I enjoy. I think I’m in a minority (?) but when he’s done sky will be 100% verifiably intolerable.

Is it wrong that I preferred James Allen to David Croft?
Brundle is a dinosaur and completely stuck in the past, I think his head and thoughts are starting to escape him sometimes. He's a far cry from his best days on ITV. Nowadays he just rambles on about pointless things, rarely speaking any sense, misses obvious things, jumps to conclusions prematurely, utters repetitive non-important stuff constantly, list goes on.

I particularly love his "how can they get this car out of the way????", as if he's a track side marshal or Massi himself, then acts all smug when they inevitably bring out a SC nascar style for even the smallest incident (magnussen 1km off track and we get a SC instead of double yellow???). And while he tries to hide his hamilton bias, in the heat of the moment he loses it and immediately blames the other driver, again case in point albon/hamilton crash, which at best was a 50/50 split, yet he instantly jumps on albon hate train. Ok, he did change his mind after seeing the replay, but this was just one of his many off moments. TBH at this point I prefer croft, at least he's good at creating tension and energy when stuff is happening on track.

I'd prefer the guy from the US grandprix whose only contribution was to repeatedly say "Neeeeeaaaaaawwwwwww" when the cars passed the commentary box over David Croft. I feel he'd bring the same energy plus we'd get a more insightful commentary.

I find Brundle's extreme bias towards British drivers utterly completely shameful and cringe, but other than that, I think everyone is doing a terrific job! (That includes Brundle, obviously)

He is a prominent member of BRDC (British Racing Drivers Club) and I think was active in 'Racing for Britain' so knows most of them from very early in their careers, so to be expected really. He is also very close with his son who does the same job in the lower formulas so mixes with them as they come through. He is biased obviously, but he does front up for drivers of any nationality when necessary.
I would say far less bias than many UK and other commentators though. Do you remember Murray Walker?
When arguing with a fool, be sure the other person is not doing the same thing.

It's a real conundrum...

British commentator favouring British drivers while commentating on a British TV channel marketed toward and funded by the British public?

Shocker.

I'm sure the Dutch, German, Spanish, French commentators etc are totally impartial at all times....

Shouldn't the teams (ordered by the FIA) in Austria all remain separated? In their own "bubble"?
No contact between members and all in different hotels in the vicinity due to contamination risk?
Only a bit of cycling or walking / running in the nearby area and further to stay in the hotel as much as possible?
Vettel, Marko and Horner received a big warning from the FIA because they were talking to each other.

I saw on Instagram that Bottas and his girlfriend Tiffany Cromwell were on an island near Cannes on Monday
and had a pizza with her yesterday in Monaco.
They landed by plane again this morning in Spielberg bei Knittelveld.
Hamilton was playing with his dog Roscoe the day before yesterday in his apartment in Monaco.

Does Mercedes not have to adhere to those strict measures to become infected somewhere ???

According to the special news of Motorsport Germany editor Christian Nimmervoll, who was the first to announce that Sebastian Vettel will leave Ferrari, Dietrich Mateschitz, owner of Red Bull, ordered Helmut Marko to "bring Sebastian Vettel back".

There is a difference here.

Vettel isn't part of the Red Bull 'bubble'.

Bottas' girlfriend was at the race last weekend and spending time with him so she's clearly part of the Merc 'bubble'. Provided they distanced wherever they went then there shouldn't be a problem
Unless Roscoe has been out to a bar or shopping(!), I'd say it's highly unlikely he risks passing on any infection to Hamilton. Less in fact than any driver returning home to a wife and children, which I'd be willing to bet several F1 staff did.

They will of course all be tested again and again anyway, but you can't imprison all the drivers and staff at the racetrack between races. The drivers know the risk to them personally if they test positive, so I think it's highly unlikely they'd put themselves in a position of risk- particularly the Merc drivers if we assume one of them is likely to be champion all things being equal.

Yeah, obviously not. Maybe I can be more precise: I oppose ANY bias based on nationality

Yep, me too. I have access to the Dutch ziggo go channel, and while the Dutch Olav Mol and Allard Kalf are reasonably unbiased (helps they have been around a long time even before the old Verstappen was there maybe?), their studio is soo biased towards Verstappen it is at times hard to watch. RTL Germany are nowadays quite okay, though they have tended into heavy Vettel/Red Bull bias (that last bias never really left afterwards, but with Vettel at Ferrari, it had to mellow I suppose bc. of fights between those teams!) before. I personally loved to listen to Palmer's race commentary from the F1 app, but I had that for free with F1tv, which I dropped.

Well, it certainly makes it more accessible for hard of hearing and/or deaf people, as long as the quality is good enough, of course. Does make it a larger bubble to add to the screen though, but it being an accessibility feature definitely makes me more tolerant of that.
