If it rains tomorrow heavily and qualifying is canceled, Hamilton is screwed.
Exciting looking grid if that happens. Although Albon might be looking a bit worried/annoyed.

Again, they dont have the F2 and F3 races on a sunday morning in Japan.

If F1 run qualy on a sunday morning, they would have to probably move all the support races
9:45-10:30 : F3
11:10 - 12 : F2
12:25 - 13 : Porsche Supercup
15:10 - F1

They have plenty of time, I assume the gap between F3 and F2 would be minimized, Qualifying would be right after F2, and supercup would be after qualifying. That would still give teams 2 and a half hours before the race.

It was already said on Sky that, if qualifying is a wash out tomorrow, FP2 results would be taken as a qualifying order.
Sky doesn't know what they are talking about, they would only do that if it was completely impossible to squeeze qualifying in on sunday.

I mean it can't be that Merc is still sandbagging is it? That's so much off the pace compared to last weekend.

What's the weather like on Sunday? Any rain expecting?

It’s a tight schedule to do quali and supercup. Just one incident or safety cup then supercup maybe cancelled or incident or safety car in supercup and the f1 race is delayed.

Horner was saying on Sky that the forecast is for morning to be much worse than afternoon. Can they not run the support races in the afternoon on wets and get them out of the way?

no, not at all. It's going to be chilly on Sunday morning, so there may be still some damp patches possibly, but I can't see any reason to believe there wouldn't be a Qualifying.

And it's not like there's much on rain on the forecast for the original qualifying time to begin with. So I'd say that the chance for the FP2 result to count as the starting grid is close to zero

Could they scrap either an F3 or PSC session to allow for F1 Q?

I could see PSC being scraped but not F3.

Yea, but having the luxury of DAS I thought they could totally focus on warming up rear tyres the conventional way.

I think they are overheating them, Lewis and Bottas both has some tail happy turn exits .
