All of this is throw away laps, the conditions are so different to what qualifying and the race will be it's almost irrelevant.mkay wrote: ↑31 Jul 2020, 13:23Perhaps, we'll only know tomorrow where things stand. Cooler temps tomorrow bound to help Merc though.
So far RBR/Racing Point are matching Mercedes in race pace as well.
Horner said it looks like Mercedes are running "turned down" as they are quite slow on the straights compared to others.mkay wrote: ↑31 Jul 2020, 13:23Perhaps, but so far RBR/Racing Point are matching Mercedes in race pace.
Agreed, but it's a good proxy for next weekend, though, as I was pointing out in my earlier post.dans79 wrote: ↑31 Jul 2020, 13:26All of this is throw away laps, the conditions are so different to what qualifying and the race will be it's almost irrelevant.
I would go with both! No need to overly stress any component to gather aero & suspension/tire data.
Is this a tribute to Norris’ helmet design?
Toto said on Sky they have had some issues with crosswinds ... and in addition, they didn`t bring any updates for this race ... maybe the upgrades aimed for slow corners that James Allison mentioned are gonna bring them on the second race here ...
Yes, indeed
HAHA this is fantastic!
Can they still isolate as their own 'bubble'? There has to be some interaction between driver and the bubble, which would mean integrating Hulk into the bubble, but if it is already suspect since Wednesday, I would think they have it in hand.Just_a_fan wrote: ↑31 Jul 2020, 01:41Not sure how the rest of the team gets to play. Guidance is that anyone who has been associated with a sufferer should also self isolate. I'd have thought the entire team should be out for 10 days (the self-isolation time applying in the UK now).
Look at the S for Norri
And we DO know the red tire is not prime long runner here by any margin. In fact, Hamilton called them rubbish after his first stint.atanatizante wrote: ↑31 Jul 2020, 14:02Toto said on Sky they have had some issues with crosswinds ... and in addition, they didn`t bring any updates for this race ... maybe the upgrades aimed for slow corners that James Allison mentioned are gonna bring them on the second race here ...
On another note, HAM was doing a short stint on medium tyres having on average a time of 1,32.5 and BOT did the same times on the harder one. In contrast, VES on soft tyres was at least 1 sec. slower than HAM. Of course, we don`t know the PU modes engaged, fuel mass, downforce levels and so on ...
