FP3: Mercedes take back advantage
Having not topped either one of Friday's sessions at Silverstone, Mercedes AMG F1 regained their usual positions in third practice as Valtteri Bottas topped the one-hour sesson, a tenth faster than team mate Lewis Hamilton.
Max Verstappen was again third fastest, ahead of Lance Stroll in the first Racing Point RP20. Stroll was already more than 7 tenths of a second off the pace-setting Mercedes.
McLaren's Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris sandwished Charles Leclerc for Ferrari as the orange cars showed their pace on the back of the fairly anonymous Friday where they failed to make it into the top 10.
Daniel Ricciardo was the fastest man for Renault in 8th. The Australian is today using another chassis as the team rebuilt his car overnight.
Nico Hulkenberg ended up 9th, three tenths slower than his team mate, and ahead of both AlphaTauri cars.
Yesterday's second-fastest man, Alex Albon ended up just 13th, ahead of Sebastian Vettel who failed to make an impression in the second Ferrari.
