Amazing job by Leclerc and overall pretty decent job by Ferrari. Only 1 tenth slower than Max and 4 tenths faster than the W10 with a significantly more powerful PU.

Slimmest rear wing of the entire grid on the Ferrari, trying to decrease the problems they have, but Charles still manages to lock out second row. You could have not done it any better than that. This is where one of the big differences between him and Vettel lies. Seb - besides having quite an unlucky weekend - struggles way too much when he's not comfortable.

The W11 is a joy to watch.
I honestly believe it is without a doubt the best Formula 1 car ever built.
I think Williams FW14 had a much bigger advantage over the competition.

I agree it was a good lap by LEC.
However, a single car cannot lock out a row...

And ultimately, as bad as the Ferrari is by their own standards, it’s no worse than the Red Bull - you could argue the chassis is performing better given how down on power all the Ferrari engined cars seem to be .

Odd to me that no one ever talks about a crisis at Red Bull given their budget.

S1 is not the place to save the tyres. No high speed corners to damage them. Turn 1 & 2 flatout anyway so dont count.
Turn 1 is pretty fast, but I was referring to protecting the rear tyres in turns 3 4 and 5. So you maybe have better rears for the final 3 corners.
That has never been the case for Silverstone. It's not a track hard on rears. We're talking about just two slow corners T4 & T17 and they're so far away seperated. Usually when we're talking about saving tyres in quali, it's two connected sectors.

On top of that, T4 leads to a long straight, while T17 is very close to the finish line, so it makes zero sense to sacrifice T4 for T17.

It's been a complete rout lol.

On a side note, Lando continues giving Sainz a quiet spanking  I think Ferrari have yet again chosen the wrong driver.

The Mercedes PU has to be the low-key biggest jump we have seen since when? 2014?
we know that mercedes had temperature problems with the engine last year.
Also williams was so far away that it was likely they make a jump.
I wonder how much they carried from last year? Yesterday's performance was appalling for their standards.

I mean, what defines the "best"?... It is certainly, by far the fastest ever (and there's a strange possibility that it'll remain the fastest for a very long time to come, if not even forever).

RedBull is literally more and more pathetic for money invested vs results. And no one gives them not even 5% of the agro that Ferrari gets.

Bravo to Merc+Lewis. They were the only team who worked on their 2020 car's development :D Others have been spending their development money on 2021 (now, 2022) cars, I guess. LOVING it!! :D :D
I don't think that's the case, you cant work on aero of 2022 until after the first race of 2021 its in the regulations.

Yeah. They were powerful last year but had to turn down becaue of reliability..

Anyway. That was a good qualifying.
A bit gutted for Nico Hulkenberg.
Good job my Max as usual. Lando as expected he has always neen quicker qualifying than Sainz. He could be as quick as Max methinks. And finally great job by Charles. If you have seen my Charles LeClerc thread, this is the man I fear the most on the grid.
