Botta's was pushing fastest laps all the way so not too surprised it happened, this is why teams usually hold position and chill but Mercedes let them race all the way.

On a separate note Rosberg finished the 2016 Austrian GP with a damaged car and no front wing, hes result stood.
and so did Perez in Austrian GP
Rosberg got a penalty, no? Maybe for the incident itself, no sure.
It was for the incident, not for driving to the flag with damaged car

If Sainz wasn't holding up Norris I think LeClerec could have been caught by McLaren. In my opinion the battle between Tracing Point, Renault, Ferrari, and McLaren is quite interesting.

After today and Pirelli going softer next week it's a guaranteed two stopper.
Or 3?

I was surprised that not everybody opted to start on softs, given that its next weeks medium. Next week you surely do not want to start on soft.

Any team having a spare set of this weeks tyres should hide them carefully in the pit box :-)
One way or another, they shouldn’t change the tyre choice - if they do then it’s just nailing on the same result. If you’re getting tyre issues then pit the car - you could push any tyre a full race distance and it would have issues; this isn’t a reason for them to change tyre compound choices, it’s a reason for the teams to stop more.

I think it’s just people wishing the win away from him for any possible reason.
It was a f'king joke!

I'm gonna call it; these cars have too much downforce for the tires. Notice how most teams ran fairly small rear wings for Silverstone?
But no problems in hungary?

Red Bull were unwise to pit and fall more than 30 seconds behind. :(

The Mercedes team member on the podium is Didier Pironi's son, Gilles Pironi (named after Gilles Villeneuve). He is a reliability engineer for the team.

No they don't. The teams are pushing tyre wear to the limit because they are stupid, that's all.

This is shades of 2013, I fully expect next week there will be very conservative limit set on tire pressure and chanber by Pirelli.

Fair play. To be fair some might also call it bait, though. 😉

At least we’re keeping it civil! (Not sarcasm- I do mean that.) Another pretty harmonious race weekend on here.
