I don't think so, but Grand Prix cars have crashed into the safety and medical car.

This is shades of 2013, I fully expect next week there will be very conservative limit set on tire pressure and chanber by Pirelli.

It would be a good time to trial a rule of minimum two or three pitstops during the race.

Making cars that handle the tyres is part of the job. Most cars didn't have tyre failures.

It was for sure 3 cars, Ham, Bot, Sai. Kvy looks like a strong possibility as well and I'm not sure about Kimi.

So most likely a fifth of the field.

Not to mention horner saying Max's tires had cuts as well.

I was falling asleep through 90% of that race and the BAM, slaped upside my head. Silverstone continues its tire shredder legacy in the sport. Heart in throat kind of stuff there at the end.

Mercedes can win it with 3 wheels: confirmed.

Red Bull were unwise to pit and fall more than 30 seconds behind.

The tyre could have failed for them too. So it was the best decision.

I'm gonna call it; these cars have too much downforce for the tires. Notice how most teams ran fairly small rear wings for Silverstone?

No they don't. The teams are pushing tyre wear to the limit because they are stupid, that's all.

"To finish first, first you must finish" and to finish you need intact tyres by doing three pit-stops!

1. Floor rules change in 2021 to cut downforce so the tires can manage the loads, this already implies them being close to the limit
2. In 2019 teams ran normal wings in both Austria and Silverstone, yet now they pretty much all opted for smaller wings. These tracks didn't change in layout. Considering the Mercedes power and them being the fastest they have absolutely no reason to run lower downforce other than one thing; not loading the tires so much.

I dont think so, Hungary is also a high demand track. Cars certainly do not have "too much downforce", since they have less peak DF than they did last year. In quali most high speed corners were up to 10 kmh slower than last year.

How many high speed corners does Hungary have?

And why would cars have less peak downforce than last year? That makes no logical sense considering the rules didn't change.
And as to why they were slower in high speed corners; They ran less wing.

They might have had a short window, less than a lap, I'd need to rewatch it to see exactly what lap Verstappen pitted and where Hamilton was on track.
