Did he though, I think Massa out qualified Bottas about the same number of times as Alonso with about 20 races less to do so?
Check your facts. Bottas 4 tenths faster in 2014 and 2015 on average, 3 tenths the same in 2016. That was young boy Bottas. He is a man now and faster.
Oh I did check my facts.

Qualy H2H:
Alonso - 59 Massa - 18
Bottas - 39 Massa - 16
Check your sums. You notice one is over 20 more than the other?

Beside that, tell me the average qualifying gap.

Yes, Alonso out qualified Massa around 75% of the time whereas Bottas out qualified him about 70% of the time.

Plus Alonso faced a younger, faster version of Massa.

I don't have the info on their qualifying averages?

My first comment was the speed margin was similar.

Alonso to Massa average quali gap. Seconds.

2010 : -0.3
2011: -0.294
2012: -0.329
2013: - 0.224

Massa actually got faster in his final year with Alonso.

Bottas on average was faster than massa 3 tenths closer to 4 tenths. These are the facts.

I could easily say that Bottas is as fast as Alonso in qualifying and it would not sound crazy.

So the never ending exercise continues to show Bottas in good light to then justify.....

Do you have a source for all these stats?

I always believed Alonso was more ahead in qualifying over Massa than Bottas was?

I'm assuming Schumacher advantage was even more over a prime Massa?

He is rubbish and the facts against Hamilton proves it. Possessing championship winning cars and losing out to other drivers with lesser cars does not exactly make him decent. Just hard facts.

Go to Wikipedia and you can find the qualifying and finishing times for every race, then it's just some quick math.

I can't be bothered to go through the data of seven seasons of qualifying.

Use racefans.co.uk

Massas was basically a rookie against a 7XWDC.... No need to go that far. Using Alonso vs Massa is enough to show that Bottas is incredibly fast.

I never recall Irvine or Barrichello as his team mates taking away anything from Schumacher's achievements. If someone was to claim that tho, Hamilton coming out on top against 3 world champions should get a mention too. One of them being Alonso in his rookie year no less.

Bottas is really fast in qualifying. It's his racecraft that falls a bit short IMO. He's not terrible, but that's where he loses out to Hamilton I think.

If you haven't paid attention, there is whole different agenda at play here to make one great driver look greater, by denigrating other great driver. You will know who they are!
