So many hopes dashed from the Party Mode ban. Congratulations to FIA!

It was soooo predictable though.
FIA as always is a bunch of jokers listening to the clowns likes Horner and Binotto to take TECHNICAL decisions.
Banning party mode made Merc put a distance and let RP to catch Redbull. So happy with Redbull's push for it :D

The first lap is going to be interesting. I can see the Mercs fighting in to the first chicane and those behind having a few incidents. Safety car on lap 1?
I hope for our sake that Bottas gets by Hamilton at the start, I have a feeling things will get interesting with Verstappen and those around him.

Likely to hinder them when they were always the first out?

They had ample opportunity to set it up nicely.
It has nothing to do with where they were positioned relative to the rest of the field. You can easily get too close and then you're hindering the second car through sector 2.
It's not difficult to stay a few seconds behind.

Anyway it looks as though Hamilton received a tow so very poor of Merc if you ask me.

I find it very hard to believe Bottas chose to go first.

Merc take it in turns every weekend who goes out first - always have. Lewis and Nico used to pick straws at the start of the season. Presume its still the same.

Stop looking for something thats not there.

Not just RP, Mclaren and Renault are also right there with Redbull and RP now

Assuming now redbul chassis is top, I'm sorry to say is clear honda Pu is not ready to reach mercedes and help title battle
:?: :?: :?: :wtf: :wtf:

Not sure how you came to that conclusion. Red Bull chassis is very good overall (but smaller gap to midfield than 2019 and relatively limited gain over 2019 car), but Racing Point, McLaren and Renault are particularly good at low downforce tracks as seen in this qualification session. Mercedes appears to be the most superior chassis in the field.

Speak for yourself. I'm hoping Hamilton gets away first and takes the race with a grand slam throw in for good measure. =D>

I hope he wins but I want to see him pass Bottas for it on equal terms, is that too much to ask? 😁

If Bottas chose to go first then he can only blame himself seeing as Hamilton benefited from a tow.

Hamilton looked to have massive pace and was on for a mid 18 but had a poor last sector.

It could have been Bottas turn to pick and he picked first, or it could have been Hamiltons pick and he picked second

Hamilton rejected the tow LAST weekend.

Bottas hit 340kph before T1 without a tow. In 2019 they got 345kph with a tow. Did Mercedes find a way to corporate Strat 2 power into the race mode or something?
That's what was suggested would happen to some extent. If they don't have to use up engine life in extreme qualifying modes, you get to run the engine a bit harder in the race.
Yes it seems they all found a way to run that kind of high mode in the Sunday race. This is fascinating. I'm starting to think that the mode ban is not as restricted as we thought. We know MGU-K is not tied to the rule, but that alone couldn't have made up all the difference. It has to have something to do with maintaining the high ICE mode.

It was Hamilton's choice last weekend, Bottas had the pick today. If that is the case then he can't complain of a lack of of a tow.
