Excellent pitt work by Mclaren. Excellent work by Norris also to slam on the brakes and give Mclaren time. FIA should clamp down on that but since they do not, well played to Norris for exploiting it!
It was a strong weekend for the team, I hope they found new faith in themselves.Mclarensenna wrote: ↑08 Sep 2020, 07:39Excellent pitt work by Mclaren. Yes! It seems they now have a chassis which is very strong on all circuits. Unlike Renault's which is nowhere near as consistent. I wonder how much lap time they will gain with the Mercedes engine next year_cerber1 wrote: ↑08 Sep 2020, 08:12It was a strong weekend for the team, I hope they found new faith in themselves.Mclarensenna wrote: ↑08 Sep 2020, 07:39Excellent pitt work by Mclaren. I read it differently; was watching the sectors times closely the last few laps. Carlos was consistently 2-3 tenths faster in S1, 2 tenths slower in S2, and then they matched each other in S3. On a good lap he gained as much as 0.5 in S1. Once he caught up, this changed due to running in dirty air.
I'd need to watch again but I'm sure I remember seeing this pattern throughout the raceHerr_Koos wrote: ↑08 Sep 2020, 11:54I read it differently; was watching the sectors times closely the last few laps. The theoretical best lap chart posted after practice also showed this patterns as I recall, with the AT being really strong in S2 and S3.
If I heard correctly, he didn't get a penalty because he was not instructed to do it.DivebombDerek wrote: ↑08 Sep 2020, 12:40Very surprised Nando didnt get the penalty for the pit incident, it clearly benefited both him and Sainz by hindering his rivals and was rather dangerous in my eyes. Didnt Vettel do exactly the same in Hungary in the RB days and get a penalty before?
