Great stuff from Lando. No wonder he was so miffed about losing a possible podium.

It would be nice if you could add the tire age and race distance in both cases. Also worth considering: Lewis on Kimi 2007.ALO_Power wrote: ↑09 Sep 2020, 13:58Regarding the Sainz vs Gasly battle, I think that probably he could be more aggressive and try to dive in the inside of T1 in the penultimate lap. Here we see the distance to the leading cars when both of the leading cars were in the 150 meter brake board. Riccardo in this case (2016 against Bottas) made the move stick from equally far back, if not further. Obviously, it's risky and requires the "cooperation" of the car ahead because you can switch from hero to zero in nano-seconds but worth to see. Also, I think McLaren has been traditionally strong on the brakes, so this was his one and only real shot at the victory.

I think they just should add a 5 sec stop and go penalty and be done with it. Basically say no tire changes BUT if you REALLY have to, pay the piper.holeindalip wrote: ↑09 Sep 2020, 09:13No where in the rules does it state you have to make a pit stop, just that you have to run 2 different sets of dry tires. As you are allowed to make changes and change tires during red flag conditions everything is within the rules...adrianjordan wrote: ↑09 Sep 2020, 02:21Just to touch on the whole changing tyres under red flag situation. Perhaps the rule could state that, if you change tyres under red flag and do not make visit to the pits at any other point in the race, then you will have a time equal to the fastest pit stop (including entry/exit etc) of any other driver added to your final race time.
So a race leader should be sent to the back of a closed up grid after a restart if he was just about to change his tyres before the red flag and come back in maybe, say 1st to 5th?diffuser wrote: ↑09 Sep 2020, 15:14I think they just should add a 5 sec stop and go penalty and be done with it. Then he’d still end up at the back of the grid
What, more than Lando’s truly deserved podium?
You're missing the fact that Daniel is on some nice soft tyres at the end rather than older mediumsALO_Power wrote: ↑09 Sep 2020, 13:58Regarding the Sainz vs Gasly battle, I think that probably he could be more aggressive and try to dive in the inside of T1 in the penultimate lap.
