BTW, fastest time in FP1 has traditionally been the fastest time they can achieve in a race scenario on low fuel.

Parc ferme begins as soon as they roll out of the garage for q1, no more changes... besides front wing level tire pressures and fuel loads

That is accurate. They can make setup changes during FP3 and between FP3 and qualifying but not after car leaves garage in q1

Just finished watching P1 and P2 sessions. What a joy to watch F1 cars on a proper old school track. There isn't going to be a ton of passing on Sunday, but at least it's fun to watch the cars fly around the track. What a gorgeous part of the world too.

I think this is a response to the video clip of Senna at Silverstone Sainz posted a few weeks ago. It seems they were experimenting with re-creating the 90s shaky camera effect people on Twitter seem to like so much.

No it's just a gripe I've had for ages now, it's ridiculous that you get a better sense of the speed and intensity by watching people's smart phone track side that than the TV cameras that have thousands and thousands spent on them.

If I was struggling on a circuit I'd want to be getting out and back on it ASAP.

Have to agree here, Bottas just like yesterday straight out on a clear track, perfect tyre prep information without having to find gaps and move out the way of other cars and clear for flying laps meanwhile Lewis comes out with 18 other cars everywhere on track.

It should have been Hamilton making that move and not Bottas, especially when he admittedly said he is struggling around here.

It's no good having a slight race pace advantage when you will not be able to utilise it if you qualify second and don't have track position.

I’m relatively new to F1 (my third year as a fan). I’m not at all familiar with this race track. From my amateur/armchair perspective, this looks to be a good, challenging track. It looks like the heat will be tearing up tires. It will be interesting to see how many go to a 2-stop strategy. Enjoy the weekend, Gents.

Uh, OK. I thought I lost count but will take your word for it.

That said these sort of processional track
layout is usually where Bottas has the best chance to win if he starts lap 2 in front of Lewis. The big fly in his ointment however is the fact that this track is very hard on tyres. Bottas hasn't done well this year at the tyre managment so he will really impress me if he can keep a chasing Lewis behind.

He held Hamilton off at Silverstone and had him easily covered until he was put on a poor strategy, Silverstone is much easier to follow and pass than Mugello I should imagine.

He couldn't keep the 2nd stint together so they pit him at L33. Lewis L42. freakish conditions anyway.
Just for balance in the force i am granting Vatteri this win so he has a bit of a confidence booster going in the other half of the season.
