Anybody else notice the pit entry light board? I wonder if this is in response to the Monza issue.

Hamilton infuriates me, just chilling in the garage whilst Bottas is straight out hammering it.

If I was struggling on a circuit I'd want to be getting out and back on it ASAP.
That’s what he does, your out there giving it your all and he’s chilling in the garage eating ice cream struggling to wrangle the track in. Then you go out for qualifying and he snatches pole from you, then runs off into the distance to watch the sunset with his feet up...

Infuriating isn’t it..
Famous last words, I'll be very surprised to see him on pole today.

Closest Verstappen has been to pole all year.

High temperatures and will be higher tomorrow.

Got off lightly there though as he had a poor second lap.

Well, that was a bit of an anti-climax... due to Ocon's off. Feel a bit for Bottas, could've made it interesting. Perez out-qualifying Stroll who was in the heavily upgraded car.

Despite the yellow flag to end the session, Charles the big standout there in 5th for Ferrari; Very well done. Might've gotten lucky, but still worth a mention.

Regardless if the race is a bit of a boring one... this track is amazing; I reckon it would be amazing as a Testing Circuit to use. Looking forward to it regardless.

Good job the first lap was good enough then. After being "unlucky" last week, Hamilton has been "lucky" this week. Goes around, comes around.

I'm still not convinced pole is necessarily a good thing here. 2 and 3 will get a decent tow and it could be interesting in to T1...
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.

Could be a really good, close race. Fingers crossed!

Hopefully right between the front three and looking at qualifying there is not a lot between most of the midfield. LeClerc at 5 is intriguing. What can HE do?

The wind will be slightly stronger as well, same head wind into turn 1. That will make the slipstream stronger, and there are several lines in turn 1 which means that we may get some overtaking.

Yep but I have a feeling Bottas was compromised on his first run outlap by being in the pack.

Again I know I'm being picky but I expect Hamilton to put more of a gap on Bottas, I am not comfortable seeing the Finn so close.

Is it just me or has Lewis become insanely skinny?

Bottas has been faster than Hamilton all weekend, Verstappen is very strong, and the bad habits of the car are muted with heavy fuel. It will be a very strategic race if the top 3 have similar pace, a safety car can likely happen because mistakes over 59 laps are a given on this unforgiving track.

However, I have a feeling Hamilton will win and we'll have train of cars. The start will be the second most important part, the first will be extending the stints as long as possible to be strong at the end.

Gap VER to ALB seems to be reducing since the mapping directive.

4 1/2 tenths back has put him in the right spot for race day.

The timesheets don't lie, he's been on the back foot all day.

I want him to smash it out of the park this weekend but looks a step behind thus far.
If, by on the back foot you mean, not in P1 after every single run, okay.

There isn't much to be gleaned from the lap times today anyway. Lap time evolution was massive, and there will be more tomorrow.

Bottas has got no chance here, even if he is faster over a single lap. He's useless at managing tyres over the length of a stint, so I fully expect Hamilton to pass him at the first stops if he hasn't done so already on track.
Now that is just hyperbolic, if he gets pole here he will be a strong favourite for the win.
I guess the Bottas hype train was derailed by Ocon.
