It's only on the one side of the car?

I've allways wondered why the teams dont try that more... it would seem to be an effective testing tool.

Or maybe those racist spanish fans thought Lewis was driving the car and hit it with some paintballs.

Well the cars are symmetrical by regulation so it makes sense.

What am I seeing in this picture? Are those Renault like fences under the nose? or just a very blurred section of track? Can't be track because I can't see the wheel...

I don't think that's accurate, teams used to run different winglets on different sides of the car etc.

Often saw more "shark gills" on one side than another last year.

The internet has a big part to play in that. But we dont have much driver intrigue like in the Piquet/Senna/Prost/Mansell days... we know pretty much where every driver is gonna be for the next couple years it seems. Cept for Button & Rubans.

Rubans will be in the library writing books about how mean Schu and Ferrari were.

Jenson will be with his hot new girlfriend. *so hot!*

The Williams deffinately looks like they are playing with the low pressure skirting under the nose.

Is anyone else surprised that Vettel in the RB5+Renault upgrades is at the top of the time sheets?

It is also gonna be good to see what Webber can do tomorrow!

PS: One has to wonder what problems McMerc are having to use such a drastic approach to seeing where the airflow is going. I can see this paint stuff being done in the wind tunnel, but with todays 20MP digital cameras, I wouldn't do that stuff on track. To me, it looks a bit desperate.

Anyone else think this may be really bad news?

some kind of air flow monitoring ??
I would have to agree. Perhaps they will take photos of the paint ripples after a lap and analyze them. Clever idea.

I was just surprised that with wind and lateral G they would not have dispersed it across the whole car for a more accurate read out?

I think they only changed the internal dimensions of the sidepod inlet to keep it legal.

It is too visible to your competitors to do this outside the wind tunnel.

I think they are having issues, and are trying desperate measures to solve or understand them...

They might still do that, although I think to find out how the air moves around/over the pressure points is more important.
