Indeed. I do agree the optics are a bit off, esp. given Wolff being 'blocked', but these guys have been gone from Ferrari for a while now, with Tombazis and Domenicali being sacked, while being pretty good fits for their new roles. And let's not forget that Wolff wasn't actually being blocked, but forced to go with a delay of two years (I think?) before going straight away from Mercedes into a role at FOM. These guys already had that delay (I also agree it was likely at least partly intended to stop Wolff moving there, but, formally it wasn't a block).

Yeah, not really, sorry. To go back to that topic, without last years Ferrari PU in the game, might be a repeat of Spa like start run to T2, with the guy at the front needing to try and stop those behind from overtaking. Since here the balance is much more towards downforce than at Spa (maybe more like Mugello? Hope they worked on SC restart procedures!), I'd expect the teams to run more draggy setups, making the slipstream more important. Of course, after the start (restarts?), that might well be over though.

It's a drag race to turn 2, but only one car can make it through that stupid chicane or the corner after.

I think we all know the answer to this. Would have been the same even if Perez WASN'T leaving, dare I say it...

Wonder if the Renaults will go well here? Would be nice to see them up there.

I think they will, from watching the cars in the last few Grand Prix they seem to be pretty good at 90° corners [which on here is about half the 18] with regards to stableness and the drivers seem to have pretty good confidence the rear wont snap round on them. Infact, I can`t remember many cases of Renaults spinning this year, certainly not in the race.
Their barge board area looks to have really moved a step forward and I personally don`t think Renault are getting enough credit! The engine seems half decent now as well...

I`m going for Danny Ric to be up there with at least one Racing Point and probably ahead of Albon...so 4th or 5th on the grid. Ocon I don`t really rate, so maybe 8th or 9th scrapping with the McLarens and Alpha Tauri.

I can`t see Ferrari even getting in the points, which is a pretty sad state of affairs!!!

Not wrong, there are so many other tracks F1 should be racing at instead of this abomination!
