Cor, Petrov was just fast enough to be annoying wasn't he?
Yup. Ask Fernando Alonso

Why are some people on here attacking godlameroso for simply telling his opinion on the matter?

Some nice moves by Michael. Good awareness by most of the drivers, too.

Yes, a race like that would be a good thing, wouldn't it.
He was fairly robust in his defence and some drivers were a bit wary of him, Michael didn't give a s*** and just closed the door on him.

Did I? I just point out Verstappen will be fast there, I didn't say how exactly, and just because it's a trick doesn't automatically mean everyone else can do it.

The chicane requires very heavy braking, you're going slightly uphill, but on the first apex the road begins leveling, in essence launching the car in the air, and the exit of the second one has a slight curve to the right and is slightly off camber. Also on corner exit there's a small dip ~2mm, everything that could exist to unstable the car through the chicane is there, so it takes an incredible amount of precision to nail it.
I was reading along until that...

He should have quoted the ambient temperature to make it more credible. Those 2 mm might be 3mm on a hot day!

It* looks like 2mm but when you arrive at an angle the car takes it like if it was 5mm... Or at least that's what my friends neighbor was told by his mail man.

If you drive it right, you can gain up to a second going through those 2mm alone. Inoue knew the trick, and he's the only person in the world who knows about it.

Other than me, of course.

Gosh you're all giving him such a hard time for throwing in his 2mm worth.

See its that angle man its tricky again I must insist yes its only 2mm but it hits like 5 so you gotta drive it right.
Its probably the most technical part of that track.

One does not simply drive through the Nurburgring Chicane. He must swiftly turn the chariot whence the road drops by 2 milimeters.

Is Max the only one who knows this trick? Others have raced at the circuit so maybe others also know how to maximise the time available.
Others know the track, and the details of that corner, but the trick is intuitive, and we've seen that the RB16 rides the bumps better than other cars. These two factors combined will see Verstappen nail that chicane. It's not enough to minimize tire slip on exit, there's a certain way to straight line it but it requires riding the kerbs in a certain way. Verstappen is the only one I've seen ride the kerbs in the 'correct' way consistently this year. Watch his Sochi Q3 onboard.
Can you explain what you mean by this dip? I honestly can't see one driver being 4 tenths faster than everyone else through 40 metres of track simply because they know some track clickbait.

This one little trick saved me almost half a second, I couldn't believe it!
Insert thumbnail of wide open mouth Max looking shocked
‘’It’s all about a trick. It’s a dip, It’s a 2mm dip’’ and nobody knows about it.

Looks like a race where conditions are such that there could be some overlap between intermediates and dry tyres.

I would actually love it now if Max wins, he and Lewis crossed the line with identical times, but the camera's show max ahead. by 2mm.
