More like the ones who got hit hardest by that Covid. If things were normal that wouldn't happen. Mclaren had a full program on the way and everything went to hell when Covid hit.

Unfortunately the team cannot get 3rd place this year. When Mclaren is on a good day every god will go against them to make them get as few points as possible. On a bad Mclaren day our opponents will have all the luck of the world to get as many points as possible. Count also the fact that the FIA has dropped more penalties to Mclaren team and drivers than all the rest and we would need 50% more points to get in order to get that 3rd place. Count also the fact that the team is making mistakes that cost them lots of points and you see how this goes in the 2nd part of the season. I don't think Ferrari or Torro Rosso will be able to catch Mclaren with so few races to go but all we can do is use the rest of this year to develop while the others are busy with that 3rd place.
Actually, the fact, that we are the one who improved the least in this year, proves that our facilities are not as good as Renault or Copy Point one. Thats the truth.
Indeed. We have a lot of work to do.
Improving infrastructure could take years.

I’ve been very disappointed with this season personally. We haven’t just been caught by the other teams- we have been engulfed some and caught by the rest

We still have the matter of the yellow flags in Q1. I mean some of those might fall behind of even we could fall ...more behind. I cant understand what happened!! Ok, imho using inters in the beginning of Q2 was was a bit of a joke but also with the wets we were centuries slower than RP and Renault. I am so so so disappointed. And besides all, RPs did one hell of a job. First and third.

I don't know about the rest here but I will never accept a team that was part of a copying scandal and got away with it when our team Mclaren was economically put to the ground on a similar situation and narrowly escaped a two year ban. The reason Mclaren is like this was because of that old scandal. The two teams in front of us are a good example of that. Call me names, anything you want, ban my account if you want but that is my honest opinion. I'm frustrated at the moment.

Good thing it’s an early start tomorrow, the nightmare will end quicker. We seem lost, seriously lost! I really hope there’s a good reason for this. There’s less money this year to dole out, so maybe 3rd this year is worth sacrificing for 3rd next year, when hopefully, there’ll be more prize money. I really hope they’re banking on 2021.
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

Is it possible that they decided to sacrifice 3rd and 4th position for a chance to use this year as a test year to develop the 2021 car and maybe take the fight to 2nd?

I Honestly have no idea, just trying to make sense of all this, looking for a silver lining.

We're starting on the racing line for both cars !

In the dry we should, atleast, get past both ARs. In the wet it will be wild.

I am also trying to understand what is going on. The team was doing pretty well till Sochi having the lead in 3rd position, capitalizing in every situation getting the most points possible and also have in some races the 3rd fastest car and in Monza the 2nd fastest and suddenly it went downhill. Who is responsible for this performance? Why haven't we got a full upgraded package yet and only trying parts of a puzzle? Isn't James Key by many considered the next Andrian Newey? Shouldn't we bring a new upgrade every race like we did last year?

To me it looks like we do bring an upgrade to every race. We have a new floor this weekend.
Also I read mid week that our development strategy for the remainder of the year is to continue to bring upgrades every race rather than fine tuning what we have

How is that going to help instead of fine tuning?

Maybe has to do with the chassis parts' homologation for next year.

That's good and all but are we gonna have an advantage for next year compared to our rivals?
