Bottas spun on his own. Dunno if Ocon during spin touched with his FW, bottas' FW but that's all.d

He's done Massa 2008 Silverstone today.

Bottas was looking like he has an unbalanced car. So the wing damage makes sense too bad for Bottas but for how much of the race was he damaged because it seems like he was never able to drive the car.

He the most non Finish driver who's ever come out of Finland...
He said from that first corner with the Renaults. I haven’t seen a replay so i don’t know if he touched anyone.
I didn’t look like he did to me.
Apparently they had another coming together later on the first lap and that was where it was damaged.

That was an entertaining race, even though HAM took the win with 20+ secs to spare.

Perez will always be my dude. Shame he doesn’t have a seat for next year.

Sorry I'm critical of Mercedes but It bothers me when a team doesn't notice something and it affects a driver on track.

It's one thing track incidents but negligence. Well if he did indeed have wing damage. If Bottas had no damage then Bottas simply is a driver that doesn't do good in the rain. That's not very Finish of him.

I think some teams missed a trick here. Clearly Ham tires are slicks. Might it have reaped profit for someone to risk a set of real slicks?
The issue was getting the slicks up to temperature on a damp track. The slick inters were red hot and thus grippy. The issue was not to wear through the inter to the carcass.
Pirelli brought their 3 hardest compounds, C1, C2, C3. The rubber left on the inter carcass after the tread had worn down may be a softer compound than the C3. Bearing in mind what we saw in FP it’s no wonder no one gave the slicks a go, nothing soft enough to fire up was available.

Pirelli have admitted the tyres they brought were too hard.

I'm assuming he did have wing damage, but probably not as bad as some might think.

I'm also willing to bet the team wanted to keep the good wings in the pit lane until it was absolutely necessary to swap one out. considering the high potential for car damage during the race.

When Ferrari boxed Seb for new inters I thought they outfoxed Mercedes but somehow Lewis did the impossible and kept out there and went faster that everyone to open up a 20+ second gap to second place. One of the best performances I have seen in the wet and the car was nowhere all weekend.

Congratulations to Lewis for his 7th world title. Amazing achievement.

As for the race, I'm delighted by Ferrari's performance overall. Also the drivers did a good job, except for the last mistake by Leclerc which is a shame really. He lost his coolness for a moment there, but such things happen and he'll learn from it. I'm glad Vettel was on the podium after all he went through this season. He deserved it by driving flawlessly today.

I guess the Ferrari that usually chews up its tyres has some use, like running in cold cold wet weather

Congrats to Lewis but I do want to add something I just realized.

The older driver's all did very well.

They went unnoticed but ignoring the top 3 Hamilton, Perez, Vettel, the other ones Kimi Ricciardo (excluding Grosjean) the older generation of driver basically out classed the younger generation of driver's.

All the younger driver's could not keep their focus and all of them lost their composure. From Charles to Max to pretty much all the younger driver's.

The older generation outclassed the younger generation in Istanbul.
Turkey Was a good race!

I'm impressed with Vettel too who surged up. Perez who was flawless and Hats off to Hamilton for also being focused.
Experience was key this time.

What did we learn from this race? A slippery track is a slippery track, rain is rain and big boys are big boys. It was obvious how much young, fast, talented guys have more to learn.

All my congratulations to Luis !!!

Great job for Ferrari no matter the position!

Completely agree with you! The veteran's showed their stripes and the younglings were to eager.

This happened up and down the track.
