Or Mercedes running a 2021 floor with some scaffolding in FP1?
I think their strategy is to complete the 21 car in December, including updates so they have all recourses available for 22

It's likely going to be a 2-stop race as Pirelli are bringing the mid-range compounds to a very abrasive circuit. If that's the case, I definitely won't complain!

Are we going to see RB and Merc racing with heavily instrumented cars for these last races?
Why only those two?
Because the rest are still fighting over WCC positions?

Given the amount of straights, anything with a Mercedes engine will be happy here... so expecting Mercedes to be unchallenged throughout the weekend. So no real change from the first 2 teams then!

3rd could be interesting; Racing Point should be the 3rd fastest team here, though the Renaults have looked pretty handy on track with some recent straights so they should be in a tight fight there too. I'm quite keen to see how Ferrari goes here, given their lacking of performance from their power unit... don't know how much they can make up through the bends if much but it has traditionally been a solid track for them in years gone by.

Unless it rains, then its a bit of a free for all once again! Unlikely given it is Bahrain, but then again... it is in the name.

Being a Ferrari fan, I should be wishing for it so they might be able to net a decent result and make the most of the conditions like the last time out in Istanbul... but I'd prefer the weekend to be dry.
Don't forget Renault. Their car is efficient and their engine is now really good. They have good top speed...

This is one of the strongest circuits for Bottas 3.9.83.7.
Prediction - Bottas topping all practice sessions before Hamilton gets a pole and win, barring drama. It's so exciting.

I didn't; Mentioned them in the second paragraph. :P

I think Renault will be close to Racing Point... especially in the hands of Ricciardo. The other Renault powered team (Mclaren) I find a bit hard to read though. They SHOULD be able to get into the Top 10 for qualifying and race, but they've seemingly lost ground compared to the rest of the grid as the season draws to a close. If I'd put Racing Point 3rd and Renault a very close 4th, Mclaren would be in the mix with Ferrari and Alpha Tauri (well, Gasly!).

Yes, one of Hamilton weak circuits in qualifying. Bottas might just steal pole though. 2 tenths.

Latest forecasts I've studied show temperatures in the low to mid 70s (F) for the evening sessions.

Some forecasts have a 20% chance of precipitation on Saturday and 10% chance on Sunday, whereas others put the chance at 25% for both days.

The temperature forecasts are likely fairly accurate. Precipitation is a crapshoot, but I would be surprised if we see any meaningful rainfall either days.

That's true. Though, I think that Ferrari should focus on next year as well already. If I was them, I would not try to finish as high as possible in the constructors' ranking, but go for more wind tunnel and simulation times by finishing 6th. Their current position.

They would be better off focussing on 2022, rather than next year. With all their best efforts, even if they finish 2nd next year, would it be a happy scenario? Let's be real, they can't challenge Mercedes next year. So why not prepare for 2022 and challenge for title glory?

This race and the next two are going to be real pain for Ferrari. They should simply treat these races as test sessions for some new under the hood concepts.

Of course they should focus on 2022, but until the start of next year it's prohibited to work on that car. So they could focus on 2021 now and in the process of doing so further sharpen their new tools. Start better prepared into 2021 and develop 2022's car with a clear mind.
