Lando made a mistake in the final run. Could've challenged for P5-7 if both Carlos and Lando had clean runs. Oh well. At least passing is possible here

Lando said he lost a tenth in Turn 1 but the rest of the lap was decent. However i cannot shake off the feeling that with Ricciardo in that McLaren we would be matching Albon today.

As I said before by pure luck we haven't managed to clear 3rd position by now and I am glad that I am proven right. I am also glad that next year we will return to where we should have stayed. With Mercedes.

Well Sainz's Q1 time was just 3 10th slower than Norris's Q3 time. Speaks volumes about where they are in preparedness for this race.

Silver linings are that it’s the two Renault’s that were the big winners today who are a fair chunk of points behind in the constructors - Stroll underperforming gives McLaren a chance of keeping in touch with the RP if the issue with Carlos’ car can be rectified without penalty. Unbelievably close spread though (4th to 9th only separated by about 2 tenths!) so race pace and tyre deg will be the determining factor this weekend, particularly given the fact that overtaking is very possible on this track.

I am even better than you. I predicted he will be a champion before the season started
If i would get the money to start my own F1 team, i would revive Arrows

Sainz is gonna have to live with just 1 set of mediums. That set with the lockup are dead. Maybe a start on Hards tomorrow ? Hard/Medium/[Hard|soft] or Hard/medium for tomorrow?

The hards may be the ideal race tire as it can deal with the heat, alebeit the tire is likely a second slower than med/soft(which both die in about 16-18 laps.) There's also the fronts will also be very prone to front graining. It's going to be tough, two stops is likely. The start will be important, but not as important as the second pit stop, of course a safety car can change everything.

We don't need a Barkus Ericcson.

For the last 2 races I want to see a driver swap.

Like to see Merc and williams swap drivers and Max and Haas.

Lando admitting his mistake and says P5 was on without the mistake. As i said earlier we have not see the car's true potential in terms of pure pace in qualifying on a consistent basis this season because of a multitude of factors, but drivers not maximizing it is definitely one of them.

yes, I just checked the rules as well, I don't think they allowed the damaged set to be replaced. So he either needs to make a one-stopper work (as he only has one set of hards as well), or run the softs at some point. Maybe an aggressive three-stop race isn't that bad a choice anyway though.

Does he not get an extra set for being in Q3?
When arguing with a fool, be sure the other person is not doing the same thing.

Norris has been quite disappointing as of late, slower in quali, slower in race.
