he won't get his usual three shots at it at least. Mercedes is fairly short on soft tires (unless they plan to save a set or two in FP3).

yeah, sure, but saving so many of the hard(er) tires for the race is still a risky approach for Russell. Both Mercedes are now down to 3 sets of Softs for the whole Qualifying, so he basically can't afford any mistakes, and whether he'll be able to go through Q2 on Mediums is still a bit of an unknown an well.
