New BRX team, car built by Prodrive. Two months ago this car hit the sand for first time, and in first stage Nani Roma was 6th! =D>

I saw him driving around like a lost Sunday driver; it was funny.

I'm not sure what the problem is, navigation has always been part of the game, this year you just need to be even more on it. Maybe time to change his navigator.

I also think the gymkhana is a bad comparison. Gymkhana are pretty much choreographed, the opposite of what limited prior knowledge of the route means.

The interview was just after finishing the stage, actually he was still into the car so it was in the heat of the moment. He should be quite stressed after wasting so much time so don´t take that too seriously

I thought it was an interview conducted later. I can understand his reaction now.

There have been a lot of navigational problems so far, it can't be entirely because of the short period they have the road books in their possession. I don't know what else it could be though.

Yesterday it was Peterhansel who got lost at some point, though they weren't sure how much time they lost.

Sainz made up 7 minutes to his biggest rivals and is now third, 40 minutes down on the leader, and 35 on Al-Attiyah.

Anyway, today I learned that Carlos Sainz was Spanish champion in squash in 1978. Didn't know that

Mind you, he might have been the best out of two squash players in Spain back in 1978!

This was his extremely frustrating moment in stage 5:

Rivals, not enemies.

Actually it was both, I´ve also hear him complaining later. He even said this dakar is focused to navigators more than drivers.

That´s exactly what many of us asked for in previous years, but maybe they went too far... not sure :?:
