Since when did Sky have ads during qualifying? What a joke
With so few people paying them to watch F1, they have to make money from somewhere.
I find it quite distasteful that they have ads on any of their premium channels, but that’s not a discussion for here!
Yeah , I think its new this year. Never seen ad's during qualy. At least its when no session is on.

Alonso is so slow...

With Ocon P8 a top driver like RIC or past ALO could have been P6

Let’s wait until Barcelona to see the full picture of teams and drivers
Guy's old. Should have stayed retired and make room for the new generation....
Really? Based on practice times? Lol... I guess that outqualifying Ocon on his first time out by a sizeable margin shows how old is he?

No, just based on the number of years between his birth and the current date, and it being nice to see some new people every now and then. Same as I said last year when his return was announced, and nothing to do with results.

Could the Mercedes be better on mediums than Red Bull?

Lance Stroll had a chance to learn how to drive a F1 car for years with daddys money. Plenty of time for Mazepin to get better.

Possibly.

I've seen people (not in F1) go slower on qualifying tires as compared to their race set. This track is very hot, so I wouldn't look for trends yet.

Good for Carlos. He needs sessions like this to help keep is confidence, I'm sure there were some reservations about if it was the right move. Looks like they showed all their cards though.

Looking closer at the top than it looked after practice at least. I think Merc better on the medums, so could be a good race tomorrow if Max takes pole as expected.

Well, it was Albonesque which is considered unacceptable... :|

Some great "special driver stuff" from Stroll and Alonso to outperform their teammates. =D>

I meant more that he didn’t make it through, really! Time wise not so bad but in that car he shouldn’t be out in q2.

Depends how much that curb riding hurt his car, because I saw parts come flying off for sure.

Track evolved towards the end, so NO he should have put in a much faster lap than Gasly. Max on soft was second up on fastest lap on same time. Fortunately he can put on hard tyre and play waiting game.
