If it’s a grid restart do they reset the lap count?

In other words in your 7th and being lapped then your just 7th and not 7th 1 lap down, etc.
I think they do otherwise it wouldn't make sense to do a standing start

Disappointed for leclerc. He had a fantastic gap, now that’s gone and he’s around far faster cars. I hope he clings to this podium
He's at the best track for defense. It'll be a good test. Norris will have plenty of pressure from Perez to worry about too.

Was Russell's fault that Lewis went off too. He slowed down on the dry line just before Tosa. Lewis had to go on the wet line just before a corner!!!

You can't magic a lap on the timing board out of thin air, unless you complete the actual lap!

Bottas was a passenger in that crash though. He's not to blame for that
I disagree. With the run George had, no way you move on the guy. He pushed Russell out in the wet.

Maybe legal, but it was a dirty move. I’d be pissed if I was Russell.
There was still enough space. Russell managed jet another self wipeout. I am starting to believe he really doesnt want to score for Williams....
Yeah because Valteri went straight where the track goes left.

I’ve been around racing my whole life, and not as just some guy watching on tv. It’s not penalty worthy, but it’s a dirty move.

Is going BACKWARD onto the trace allowed ?
Cause Hamilton did exactly that.
Yes, he was going in reverse. I also thought that was illegal, but I'm not sure.
Anyone knows?

Bottas veered to the right to protect his ego and put George on the grass!!

So unfortunate for Lewis. He went off line to pass the back marker. It is is not over yet though!

Also for a standing start, where is the dry line, P1 or P2 or between them ???

To me that looked absolutely like Russell’s fault.

Bottas was quite central to the track, instead of leaving Russell plenty of space...

I'm leaning to racing incident IMO. Both partially at fault.

Not the incident, the reaction.

Nope. You don’t move a guy with 10mph run on you into the wet / grass.

All drivers will be annoyed when being wiped out at 190 mph!!!

He doesn't have to leave him space, unless he's alongside.
