If they know ANYTHING about F1, surely the person running the data for that must have been absolutely cringing when they had to send it to be displayed on screen.
And to think that their data analysis might end up being used when designing future F1 tracks :?

Scary. I’d rather have the bloke that came up with the rainbow road and bowser’s castle doing it.

Lewis had a perfect tow from Perez - would have been P8/9 otherwise.
Absolutely not worth the paper it’s written on, to use an outdated analogy.

I think Amazon automated that person's job.

I think it's safe to say one Mercedes won't make Q3 and the other will just about make it into Q3. But we're still looking at a comfortable 1-2 for Red Bull with a 3-4 for Ferrari.
Mercedes are struggling on one lap pace sure.
But I don't think it's that bad as you are saying. They may be 4 5 6 in q3 in the end. But this is not Monaco, and they are genie threat for race win from their Friday long run
I don't think so. They weren't even that far down in Monaco. HAM would have trailed GAS by 1 second if it wasn't for the tow!

PU mode won't bridge the gap fully.

How can u be sure that everyone is running their maximum possible? 🤔
Let's wait till q3 to find out

And that’s the huge problem sometimes of automating things and using data without context or a sense check. We have experimented with it at work and it often falls down without the context and nuances a human brain adds to it.

When you are accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression.

Likewise, if you are accustomed to domination, then equal cars that eb and flow depending on the circuit feels like an unfair disadvantage.
Ferrari and VET led championships later in the season and by greater margins than what RBR has right now in both 2017 and 2018.

The question of which car would perform better circuit-by-circuit was a weekly occurrence, just like it is now.

Even in the middle of 2019, Ferrari was out-qualifying the W10 at every power circuit, and then the Mercs had to battle to the front during the race.

So, for Merc fans in the hybrid era, this is nothing new. Were you following F1 those seasons (asking genuinely, not sarcastically)?
I think many people white wash 2014-2020 as complete Mercedes dominance and forget what actually happened in 2017,2018 and 2019
I do not think people have forgotten. We remember that in 2019 Mercedes won 71% of the races.
Their worst performance in the hybrid era is 52% of the races in a season. These are not competitive season.

They asked for competition now they have it, so they must compete.

I wonder is we are feeling the effects of removing DAS in a car that got used to setups with DAS.
If memory serves me well, Mercedes had 1 ir 2 bogus races, where they could not use the tires properly, every year.
Every year except 2020, that is; and this year they already have 2 such races.
The setup sweet-spot with DAS on must have been humongous.
Depends on if you are talking about the front tyres or the rear. Front tyres definitely benefited more from the DAS.

On the giant tow down the straight... I think Bottas should be sacrificed for this one. lol. Or hope a Williams makes it to Q3 and they sacrifice that.

Great Murrayism from Di Resta there.

‘There’s the Red Bull. That’s Verstappen.’

‘Or it could be Perez...’
