Did Crofty just say Bottas had the chassis Hamilton used in Baku? Anyone have news on this?

If Lewis really did 2 stabs at a hot lap like they just claimed, then he has a lot of extra pace in hand, considering these tires can barely make it through the first 2 sectors without dieing.
He just said on the radio that there's definitely something not right with the car.
He did 5 laps on the softs, so he definitely had a decent fuel load onboard.

The new profile in corner 5 is absolutely terrible, it's like there's a massive hole in the track ...
Strongly disagree. Why should F1 tracks be perfectly smooth?

Soften up the springs to work the track surface better if desired. :D
No modern 1 car has that much suspension travel.

Bottas was using the chassis Lewis used in Baku. I'm not sure Lewis is using Bottas's Baku chassis!

The plot thickens. Could VB have been experiencing a legit issue this whole time?

Verstappen had quite a big slipstream on both straights on his fastest lap 1.32.872, definitely worth a few tenths.

Bottas was using the chassis Lewis used in Baku. I'm not sure Lewis is using Bottas's Baku chassis!
From Crash.net
Bottas will move onto chassis #6, the same chassis that Hamilton has been using since the start of the 2021 season. The reigning world champion will subsequently run chassis #4, which his teammate raced last time out in Baku.

Yes but Crofty is suggesting the last part might be misreported. We’ll see.

Either way, BOT was quicker on the mediums, HAM is quicker on the softs despite HAM moaning.

This is the part I am contesting, I have not seen a quote from a Merc employ claiming it.

Ted Kravitz just confirmed on the broadcast that this is indeed what happened. Confirmed by Merc, who say it's standard practice and not because anyone complained.

Interesting how Red Bull are miles behind Mercedes now they cant cheat with their flexi rear wing or tyre pressure tactic combined with all the work Mercedes have done over the break...looks like a game changer so far
How many times do we have to explain that abiding by the rules was not cheating? The rules were changed mid-season, and hence RB had to adapt wings. Like party modes had to be adapted previously.

And did you have any doubt Mercedes would be better at this track? They were generally faster this year, so far. Only at the street circuits RB could get their car to work better.
The rules have not been changed mid season, the tests have been changed to enforce the rules that already existed.

Party modes has absolutely nothing to do with it.
Please go over the 50+ pages of the topic on this issue to see how the change in the test is a change in the rules, as the flexibility limits are implicit in the test conditions. (and if you so desire, it can be again discussed in that topic) No need to go over that again, here...

Well, their is either something wrong with that chassis or Merc are doing something really weird on the long runs, as Lewis is 7 to 9 tenths slower than Bottas!

Worrying how little grip there seems to be on tyres that just did 5-7 laps

What is this garbage of David Croft commentating the ridiculous AWS stupid prediction graphics?

"Karun, why do you think Hamilton only gets 98% car performance in the corner, and Verstappen gets 96%? the computers algorithm widget tell me and this is just like my boiler when its telling me the room temperature and what do you think about this and how bad will this impact the championship?
