Yes I agree. A big spectacular crash, and WDC contenders so they will apply the maximum penalty. The FIA are consistently inconsistent.El Scorchio wrote: ↑18 Jul 2021, 16:34I wouldn’t be surprised either. If it was a concrete run off area with ‘just’ a pirouette then there might not be one at all. Purely because this was so spectacular it might be seen differently.
Why should anyone care what you or Otmar thinks?. When all the evidence is on the onboard cameras. Unless ofcourse you block your sight, you can clearly see that Hamilton understeers and misses the whole apex, literally had a car width and some more on the inside and still understeered. Max was ahead, so Hamilton hits the rear tyre.
You'd think Lewis will be able to pass Charles on the straight somewhere. He won't be nearly so forceful against Charles as Charles has nothing to lose and Lewis has a lot to lose.
Well it’s what they decide but I can’t see how they can say ‘ok racing incident’ where 1 of the 2 contenders has lost out as a result - they will try and find a ‘balance’ with a penalty, somehow!Just_a_fan wrote: ↑18 Jul 2021, 16:39It's either a racing incident or it isn't. Who is driving the cars shouldn't make any difference.
They showed Max's on board, he turned, and then straightened out, and then turned in again.proteus wrote: ↑18 Jul 2021, 16:34If he is in your blind spot, how are you supposed to see him?
Watched the same thing but without steering into the corner eventually he would have never made the corner. He clearly knew HAM was there by reducing the angle but he has to turn in at some stage. It’s extremely high speed. Could he have done it a fraction later? Maybe but at serious risk of a) not making the corner at all b) damaging the car on the curb.dans79 wrote: ↑18 Jul 2021, 16:37From the overhead view they showed on sky pad at the point of impact there was room, but Max was still aiming for the Apex.GOAT wrote: ↑18 Jul 2021, 16:33What? Max dives into the apex?Hoffman900 wrote: ↑18 Jul 2021, 16:27Instead he pushes Lewis right, swings left, and then dives into the apex.
Seriously?!
Max leaves like a Grand Canyon of space on the inside for Lewis..
Lewis isn’t able to put his car on the apex and therefor hits Max- 100% Lewis to blame, he took the risk of crashing out.
Russell got a penalty for something similar, put down as causing a colison with Sainz when he locked up and understeeered into him at Brooklands, plenty of space on the inside, Sainz gave him plenty of room.Diesel wrote: ↑18 Jul 2021, 16:38Yes I agree.
