I guess just punt out people is the new thing. Why give a cars width? 5s or 10s is nothing? You can make up more in a race. So, I guess just punt out within the race !
It is the intellectual dishonesty of a few individuals claiming such things are racing incidents, I can only wonde why. Take a driver out? racing incident of course, side-by-side racing, unless ofcourse you are Kimi Raikonnen. We saw Ricciardo and Alonso do exactly the same as Vestappen and Hamilton at copse but Ricciardo didn't understeer after being given that car's width+ inside. Push a driver off the track and they lose 10+ positions? racing incident. Run into the driver on the straight? racing incident.

The penalty makes no sense - it’s one thing to say it wasn’t a rule break (which I would strongly disagree with) but if you rule that a rule was broken then a 10 second time penalty makes zero sense. It’s either no penalty or a minimum of a stop/go.
Why? So should Perez and Norris have got those penalties in the last race?

I think he should make up 10s quite easily if he gets past LEC.
Yep Sky are talking like it’s a race ending penalty. He could easily still win here.
They seemed to assume it was a stop/go, which it isn’t.
True but it was just mainly Croft brainlessly gobbling off as usual.

Penalty doesnt make sense because it isnt deserved. The FIA gave him because of george russel's the day before in the name of consistency. This was a racing incident, but FIA had to give something for the wreckage of the rb car and consistency.
For Sure!!

We had probably four or five of these kinds of fights between lewis and max (Imola, Barcelona, Portugal and Silverstone two corners earlier). In each of those, Max would take the whole track going on the inside and literally leaving lewis no room at all. Lewis here even left room. There is no rule saying you have to hit an apex but there is a rule saying you have to leave room to another driver that is alongside of you (which Max didn;t do a single time before).
Previous cases have no relevamce here. Max did leave enough room this time. Hamilton didn't hit the apex on purpose hoping for exactly this to happen.

Doesn’t the 10 seconds have to be served at a pit stop if there is one before the end of the race though, it’s just if there are no more stops it’s added onto the race time?

I think Max will have to learn from this.

He fights so aggressively in every battle.

Usually other cars will back off (as Hamilton has done all year), but this is what can happen when they don't and he has a championship to win this year.
He's young and checks all boxes but he does over do it with how hard he fights. He's 32 points ahead. Fighting that hard with a lead like that isn't necessary. Hamilton and Schumacher wouldn't have done that. But he is only 23 he'll mature

Thanks, asked because DC is saying otherwise on channel 4.

Was a red flag really necessary?
I makes huge impacts on race results.
If they'd done a safety car or similar, they'd have been behind it for 10-20 laps and that would have been pointless. By having a red flag, we get a full race.
Point was RF has direct impact on race results, and wdc.

It's not a few individuals. Most commentators and everyone not in either Red Bull or Mercedes thought it was a racing incident. A few people that are Max fans think Lewis should be taken out and shot for daring to race.
