Why can’t the wave the 3 hour rule, the race never went green. There’s plenty of daylight.

The fans have stood in the rain for hours, if there’s daylight they should race. If they do 2 laps behind the SC then pack up the fans will go nuts, it’ll be Indianapolis 2005 again
I know right? It's from the TV slots they get and they can't just keep extending (I thought) but they should just scrap the rule. If people want to stay and watch the race and the light is good, let them race.

The 3hr rule is from the scheduled race start TIME, not from when the race starts.

+1 this. This is infinitely better than not having the race, or trying to have it on Monday, or making an attempt at coming back at a later time...
If they go out for 2 laps behind the SC then pack up it’ll be incredibly embarrassing for F1. Indianapolis 2005 again…

The race has not started.

They could, instead of rescheduling the race to another date, reschedule it to another time on this Sunday, going around the 3 hour rule.

They need to scrap most of the rules.

Define when cars have to be on grid to start the race, and then start is up to the director’s discretion. No more / no less.

Now it’s all mired in nonsense.

It would be better to just cancel than do 2 laps behind a safety car for the sake of handing uneared points out.

Almost seems like the rules have been made to ensure there's no race. They had the forecast from the beginning. Why harass fans at home and more importantly sat there? Could have just called it off.

Everyone is bothered about who will get what points selfishly.

Nothing matters. Who wins/loses or gets what. Those fans deserve a race and a cracker at that.

Safety above all. Really hope the weather clears enough for a race.
Agree with all that. Looks like the poor long suffering fans are going home with nothing unfortunately. Wonder if they get refunds or part refunds for this? I hope so.

There seems zero point in trundling the drivers out for a glorified parade lap
If I were there, the refund would mean little compensation.

Do a race tomorrow. For their sake.

If there is no way to come back tomorrow, which i believe there is not, can't the race director ignore the 3hr rule and have the race until there is available daylight or is the 3hr rule set in stone? So sad for the people at the track soaked in rain and possibly going home empty handed. This is what F1 has come to. Should have started the 1st time round. Almost 0% it will start now.

The 3hrs is just about TV isn’t it…

No one seems to be saying, we need to do our upmost to put on a show for the fans.

I don't know but F1 this year is really starting to go on my nerves with these stupid rules noone understands. Not even stewards. Why the hell they don't stop this farce and postpone the race for tomorrow for F sake?!

But if the race did not take place, think how many people would be asking for refunds. Spectators, sponsors TV companies and many more. I can not see them allowing that, right or wrong
When arguing with a fool, be sure the other person is not doing the same thing.

Assuming any of them can actually make it back tomorrow. I’m sure lots have transport booked and are also maybe expected back at work. Maybe that would be even more of a kick in the teeth!
