I guess the weather looks like it might be improving, so they are looking for a break in the weather

They have just over-ruled the three hour thing. God knows what that now means.

We can start any time and do the full race?

We can start any time but only race an hour?

If the second point, why not do it 1 hour into it to ensure 2 hours to race?!
Madness I tell you.

And now we’ve binned the 3 hour rule. #-o
Just saw it on F1 tv. Guess now they will stretch it to 1hr before sunset.

Yeah that’s my guess.

I don't know but F1 this year is really starting to go on my nerves with these stupid rules noone understands. Not even stewards. Why the hell they don't stop this farce and postpone the race for tomorrow for F sake?!
Postponing for tomorrow doesn't work because there is a 70 percent chance of rain and it's unclear how much staff they can bring back on a Monday.

They’re just making it up now. Which is fine, they just need to bin the rulebook.

Yeah I agree. There’s a point where common sense should come into play and over-rule some of the regs which the situation today has made a mockery of.

Trouble is that any team that ended up losing out as a result of it would naturally appeal.

whats the process for doing this? Unanimous consent by drivers and teams or just unilateral decision by MM?

Stewards decision to overrule it.

The stewards do that. Apparently, they stopped the clock when 2 hours had already gone. So 1 hour to race like a sprint race...Nonsense. They should it make so if the race is not started within an hour the counter is automatically stopped.
