Race control has quite a short fuse man. But Russell P2 and Latifi P9, nice haul haha.
Please don’t.
There should be no celebrating this it’s pathetic.

What kind of driver wants a gifted trophy. It’s worthless.
I don't like it either but it is inevitable at this point.

100% those parade laps just now were for contractual implications.

It's going to be disgraceful if George celebrates this second place. There wasn't even a race ffs.

I guess a race event has now technically been ‘completed’? No expectation of refunds/compensation for punters now, that’s my cynical take of the last couple of mins.
That is my thinking too. CMA

I may never watch F1 again. Most embarrassing, shameful thing I’ve ever seen in sport.
They must have known from looking at the radar there was no chance of any meaningful ‘race’ when they did this.

Both championships could be decided on it as well. It may have ramifications all the way down both tables. Williams have had a huge gift.
Exactly. I thought even those who claim to be the moral defenders of the sport, would be disappointed with this farce. But their favorite driver gets 12.5 points for nothing, so they’ll bend over backward to defend it. Still behind in the championship though lol.

Risking the drivers’ safety for 2 laps just to get a canned result. Just have a foot race to decide the points if we are just making things up.

Sport championships have been decided on luck and questionable referee calls since... since there are sport championships.
True but this isn’t even questionable it’s clear it’s a stitch up.

They should atleast end this. Instead i have thrown away nearly 4 hours waiting for a race that wont happen. It is even more unfair to those people who actually came. They are freezing their butts off, soaked to the bones....Its not like it is 80/90s when weather data was still difficult to predict. They must have known that rain wont stop trough the day.
If i would get the money to start my own F1 team, i would revive Arrows

I'll take brain dead comments for 500, Alex.
Found Michael Masi.
Please explain to me what they are meant to do when the entire grid of drivers is saying it's too dangerous to drive?
Not trundle round after the safety car for two laps to manufacture a ‘result’.

Difference is that those calls are made split second. Here we have race control watching radars seeing that there is no way any racing will happen, yet still make this call.

Of my 20+ years of watching F1, the FIA surprises me every year with new braindead decisions.

Just don't start it, refund the people who came out to the track and sat in the rain for hours. This was absolutely only about contracts and money.

So how is it a ‘nice haul’? I’d be embarrassed.

How the hell you want to race when you see anything but wall of water in front of you?
Oh my goodness.

I didn’t want them to go out there at all.

I don’t give a crap if they don’t race out for safety’s sake.

It’s the artificial result I’m disappointed in. Some, I don’t think, were clever enough to discern that.

There should be no refunds.

Rain is not under the control of the track or F1.
