The other question is the undercut. The number of changes of direction is many, thus high degradation can be expected and a strong undercut?
What's the surface like?
"3" according to the Pirelli graphic...

Suspect everyone is in the dark until Friday morning.

Cornering speed for the DTM series. Formula 1 should be significantly faster.

Davina Michelle will sing the National Anthem.

This is the F1 song for the cancelled 2020 GP.

"Beat Me (Official Song F1 Dutch Grand Prix) - Davina Michelle"

This is THE race, people! =D>
why, because it's Holland and therefore other tracks don't matter?

anyway my prediction:

Verstappen DNF.
Hamilton takes the win.
Norris P2.
"Explain the ending to F1 in football terms"
"Hamilton was beating Verstappen 7-0, then the ref decided F%$& rules, next goal wins
while also sending off 4 Hamilton players to make it more interesting"

I dunno. Will have to see, but my feeling says that the track is too small, too tight to race F1 cars on.

Hoping cars don't go off at Scheivlak, because then I don't wanna know where the car will be.

The front left tyre is going to be screaming for mercy on a qualifying lap - or any lap really. The high speed last two corners , then 1, the quick flick through 2, then 7, 8 and 9 are all quick, then 11 before trying not to get understeer though 13 and in to 14 again.

This morning.

Ferrari did not follow the diversion route, but took the shortest route, which almost failed.

Wow, already two pages without "this track clearly fits [insert opponent manufacturer]'s car, so it will be a miracle if [favorite driver] takes any points, let alone the win. If he manages to take pole or win the race [favorite driver] will clearly be driving in a league of his own." =D>

I hope it stays that way [-o<

I am
- looking forward to a new track,
- curious how VER will deal with the pressure of a home race,
- afraid of a procession which is decided in the pits (over/undercut),
- looking forward to left front tires falling apart or maybe forcing teams to stop more often than they planned and by that bringing some unpredictability into the whole race.

Weather according to my forecast will be cloudy but dry so some nice running ahead of us!

Predictions are impossible, I can only guess RB and Merc in front, followed by McL and Fer and then the rest of the bunch.

Using the F1 game as a barometer, the main issue is the narrowness. I still think there is a good chance of a decent race though, as teams won't have a lot of data, tyre wear could be massive, and it could rain.

- yes, a new track does add a bit of interest to any season
- Max will be fine. The "pressure" that is talked about is usually just the media making up a story. The drivers have been doing this since they could walk, it's just another day in the office for any of them.
- I share this worry. The track does look like overtaking is going to be difficult.
- I can see the front left tyre being the defining issue for the teams. It will likely be the thing that causes them a problem.

One thing that hasn't been highlighted yet, is the short pitlane. The pitlane is one of the shortest on the calender, with estimations of just 15 to 17 seconds loss with pitstops. This could make things more interesting since it might provide more tactical options.

Edit: with the new pitstoprules, the loss might turn out to be 15.2 to 17.2 seconds

 And than there is the mini roundabout in Overveen..

I wonder if with a qualifing setup in mind, the following car could do a Hungary ‘20 like Hamilton did. Pit new primes and play catch-up with the leader on older tyres.
