Ah it will be a Holland Casino with all the crashes and slow recovery of cars on Sunday. Even a Haas can win this.
I'm in a fantasy F1 league at work and am so far out of the running now that I've started predicting crazy results as that's the only way I'll get back near the leaders...

So I've bet on Lando winning with Sainz and Vettel completing the podium 🙈🤣🤣
Favourite driver: Lando Norris
Favourite team: McLaren

Turned down the chance to meet Vettel at Silverstone in 2007. He was a test driver at the time and I didn't think it was worth queuing!! 🤦🏻‍♂️

Um, did Verstappen overtake the Aston under red flag conditions during FP2?

Does anyone have onboard footage of his dash at the moment it happens?
On F1TV you can watch the onboard footage of Max. It is very clear that he immediately reduces a lot of speed when the red flag is shown. You can also see that he does not overtake anyone on the way to the pits. Anthony Davidson is stirring things up in the hope that Max will get a punishment and the Lewis fans are happy to participate.
Thing is, even Horner has commented on it, so the Stewards must be aware. We'll have to wait and see what happens today, but I spotted it on the live coverage and my take was that he had back off and was in the process of slowing but would have had to slam on to avoid passing that car - which could have been a risk in itself.

I'd file this the same as Lando and the pit entrance at Baku.... But then we all know how that turned out 😔

Here's hoping for a pragmatic approach for once 🤞🏻

Raikkonen tests positive for covid, is out of the weekend and replaced by Kubica.

Hopefully Gasly doesn't test positive for the next race seeing he was alongside Raikkonen during the driver's conference. If he does, maybe Albon will drive for Alpha Tauri next week...

Shame Ilott couldn’t have had a go, although he may be in the US already for his Indycar run out.

There is a good 3 seconds of Red flag before he passes Stroll

Gasly already had Covid, before he was vaccinated. But Kimi talked to a lot of people about his leaving the F1. :-(

FIA: "pitstops need to be longer, reaction time and all"

Also FIA: "yeah, with a red flag, slam the brakes like instantaneously in the middle of the track, thats really the safest"

When i was in industry, perhaps the thing I despised most were those that viewed safety as a procedure instead of as a behavior. Here, slowing down in a controlled manner even if that means passing someone who is really slow seems the safer option, even if its against the procedure.

If he was handed a grid penalty or something that would damage the stewards again like with Leclec two years ago in Monza or Hamilton’s practice starts in Russia. I guess they have to ask the parties involved because he did overtake under red, but also not much else he could have done.
Let’s this be the beginning of some proper stewarding in these cases.

Absolutely no chance they’ll give verstappen a penalty in front of his home fans. F1 are loving building him up as the new hero. Max will get a fine and a told he’s a naughty boy. That’ll be all.
