Lotus E21 Renault

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

How do you know there is only one version ? If anything Lotus should have two since they have worked on it the longet.

Sure the low pipe isnt there on one and that might suggest its not the full version but then again why would they run a system that obv then wouldnt work if you need the low pipe?
That's because when they run without exit pipe the ears were closed, IIRC
It's been a long time since we drove last time, but it has also been a short time at the same time

"...and there, very much in flames, is Jacques Laffite's Ligier. That's obviously a turbo blaze, and of course, Laffite will be able to see that conflagration in his mirrors... he is coolly parking the car somewhere safe." Murray Walker, San Marino 1985

There are two different ducts: one attached to the main plate and the other one - not attached

Looks like Raikkonen's right rear floor vane (that is made of metal and sits near the wheel) was broken

I know. I mean the anti-roll bar and the steering rack especially... they were always exposed in the last Enstone cars. But now they're placed** inside the monocoque. It's just an observation. A monocoque that is, as you know, veeery similar to the E20 monocoque...
I wonder why they made that change... what could they gain...
Edit: **ARB seems to be placed inside..

Could it be Lotus is using 'exclusively' hydraulic suspensions like Mercedes (but only for the front) ? a hybrid FRIC : P ?
