Merc have been sensitive to temp changes for as long as I recall them being a team. They got pole and won China in 2012 when it was cooler with the W03, and pretty much trounced for the rest of the season. That was the last time I saw them outperform in cooler conditions(to memory) and even then China was pretty unique in being front end limited.
