Montreal is always a venue for exciting races with lots of surprises. There's a chance a safety car could appear during the race. Imagine Mercedes losing out this time, because they stayed out when others pitted. Possibility is very real.

It's not rocket science for them, if they see the other teams they are racing go out into the pitlane they should to, then there is no risk it's gonna give the others an advantage.

I thought it was the time for Ferrari's big engine upgrade but now they say it won't be? http://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/ferra ... for-canada M.A.: “In Canada we will not use the tokens." “But do not ask me when we will do it, because I do not want to give the information to the Germans [Mercedes]. I want a bit of [Italian] nationalism...”No 70% new engine then.

We can't know about Barcelona for sure because Lewis was fighting Vettel the entire race due to his clutch issues. Had he not been racing the Ferrari, it could have been a Lewis win for all we know.

One of my favourite tracks. I love the combination of straights and slow corners, PURE FORMULA 1!!!

Mercedes will be the favourites here again but lets not forget what happened last year, so they must be very careful with the brakes. Anyway I would like to see Ferrari putting them under a great pressure, especially in the straights. But Arrivabene has said that the slow corners dont suit Ferrari, I can see this point but I am not in Ferrari so he must be right.

Poor Alonso and Button, they are going to suffer SO MUCH...

My prediction:

1. Hamilton
2. Rosberg
3. Vettel
4. Raikkonen
5. Bottas
6. Massa
7. Hulkenberg
8. Ricciardo
9. Ericsson
10. Nasr

If Mercedes has the same problems Vettel could win....

Their brakes wouldn't have failed without the ERS failure. I think you mean they need to be careful with their hybrid system temperatures. But it wasn't specific to the Canada race, they just had some new software which failed. It wont be repeated.

Last year though, the projected race day temperatures were much lower than what they were actually on race day. The practice and qualifying weather supported the projected temperatures. Unusually, the race temperature went a lot more higher than projected and the kind of configuration Merc were running, the heat became a major factor in breaking down the hybrid system. They got themselves screwed in Malaysia this year as similar situation happened with race temperatures going as high as 63 Degrees (which they worried affected their tyres) and messed up with their strategy. In Bahrain, they endured break temperature issue due to setup and Nico got affected more than Lewis. All this tells me that, Mercedes' race package is quite tight (in terms of heat management) and is sensitive for a broader temperature change, which affects them much quicker than any other car.

But Canada is specifically hard with those parts so we cant be sure that it wont be repeated.

He is probably going to have DEFCON 1 levels of focus, after the last race.

Why don't you think Perez will finish in the top 10? I think Canada is a good track for him.

I reckon those running behind them (which is usually everyone) would have time to wait til the Mercedes pass and then run out, particularly if there's any kind of gap

Biggest question is if the part-time fan Mandrake will watch this race or not?
Maybe only one overtake all race? Total disaster amirite?

Let´s hope Mercedes don´t go conservative on the brakes this time, so we can finish what was started in 2014.

Yes, I'm hoping for no brake issues on the Mercedes cars. Should be a good race, it usually is. My favorite is Button passing Vettel on the last lap to win in 2011.

Don´t be too pesimistic yet, Alonso said they have a lot of potential to unlock even without using tokens, so hopefully they will use some of that potential here... they should at least if that´s true
