Yes, the picture that I linked shows the 4 DRS zones. I was not disputing it. There are still only 3 detection points. I assume that means the 4th uses the same detection point as the 3rd.Jaeger wrote: ↑17 Sep 2024, 16:04"The FIA has decided to add a fourth DRS zone to the Marina Bay circuit for Formula 1's return to the Singapore Grand Prix."

Another change that the drivers can look ahead to dealing with is the result of a resurfacing job carried out in several areas.
Tyre supplier Pirelli has detailed the track has been relayered between Turn 3 and 9, 10 and 12, and 14 and 17, which should provide a “smoother surface”, according to the Italian marque.
McLaren is the favourite no matter what. Ferrari performed at 99% perfection in Baku race with Leclerc and they lost to McLaren in one braking zone and that was itbananapeel23 wrote: ↑17 Sep 2024, 16:22Singapore is hot and humid though, so they may end up having a slightly easier time than usual, should it end up being a wet race.
Then assuming it's a dry race, Ferrari should be even more likely to win than in Baku, since overtaking on track in Singapore is nearly impossible without a massive pace delta.Vanja #66 wrote: ↑17 Sep 2024, 16:32McLaren is the favourite no matter what. I'm not convinced Ferrari had "comfortably" the fastest car on the grid. Leclerc was comfortably fastest on the S, and was fastest on the M, but McLaren was very quick on the H. Ferrari had trouble getting the Hards in the right window, and just didn't have the same pace as McLaren.bananapeel23 wrote: ↑17 Sep 2024, 16:58Then assuming it's a dry race, Ferrari should be even more likely to win than in Baku, since overtaking on track in Singapore is nearly impossible without a massive pace delta.Vanja #66 wrote: ↑17 Sep 2024, 16:32McLaren is the favourite no matter what. Ferrari SHOULD be good in quali here if it's dry, if they start on pole, they're likely to win.
Also let's not forget that Ferrari had comfortably the fastest car in Baku and only lost out due to a questionable overcut call and a stupid mistake from Leclerc during the warmup phase. If you can sit within a second of the driver in front for 30-something laps before your tyres give up, you have a pretty massive pace delta.

Sainz was comfortably faster than Piastri on Hards and his gap to Leclerc on this track was 2-3 tenths a lap at least. It was a perfect storm for Ferrari with Leclerc, but they contributed to most of itcodetower wrote: ↑17 Sep 2024, 20:49I'm not convinced Ferrari had "comfortably" the fastest car on the grid. We must factor in that Piastri is probably the weakest driver in terms of race pace between the top teams (outside european Perez, of course ). But I agree Leclerc Ferrari was clearly the fastest package in Baku.Vanja #66 wrote: ↑18 Sep 2024, 08:56Sainz was comfortably faster than Piastri on Hards and his gap to Leclerc on this track was 2-3 tenths a lap at least. How long until Singapore becomes first circuit where you can use DRS wherever you want?

That is such a dumb circuit layout, even if they have DRS on every straight section it will not make it bearable.
