Rb have invested billions into RBPT in recent years. Oliver is for sure going to be assessing whether the outlook of the team is actually worth this huge investment for the brand..ME4ME wrote: ↑29 Jun 2023, 07:50I wouldn't assume everything to be rosy just because it is going well this year. Surely they have a much more long-term perspective than that. Especially with RBPT having to deliver in 2026. Ford coming onboard. New wind tunnel, the aftermath of the budget cap penalty etc.
They were clever in signing Verstappen long-term so he'll be there when they put the RBPT PU in. Basically they bought themselves stability.
Also they'll have to think and plan for succession of Marko himself. Will he even be at the team in 2026 when the RBPT PU gets introduced. Same goes for Newey when his contract eventually expires and he decides to retire or do something else. Also there is the hunt from rivals for Red Bull talent.
Again I doubt its so rosy that they'll be sitting there at their meetings laughing and drinking Red Bull
My point is that the current success makes the current huge spending a lot more palatable. I think if the ownership change had occurred and RB were struggling in the new regs, things wouldn't be the same between Marko and Oliver.
