Be interesting if the lack of overnight parc-ferme causes any teams any particular problems in the race.

'Cos the one thing we know about parc-ferme, it aint really all that ferme, and every race produces pages and pages of FIA sanctioned fixes and replacement parts (usually sensors, but all sorts).

If they have to go straight from quali to race tomorrow, could be a lot of niggles on the car, a few problems to drive around, and maybe some reliability issues as the cars don't seem to be designed to do a qualifying and race distance without overnight attention.

I believe the race would start in WDC order if Qually cant take place so Webber gets pole with Nando alongside. [-o<

No qualifying at all, then they will line-up in numerical order, Button on pole, behind the safety car I'd imagine, try and clear some surface water with 24 cars in formation, then go for a race ... even if they don't seem to be clearing water, they'll probably still go green (Fuji 07), FOM has TV contracts and TV schedules to be honoured.

I think he wishes so, definitely.
But if we look at the 2003-2005 system, first qualifying was form according to championship positions IIRC.

Yeah, but it's 2010, so what happened then doesn't matter quite so much as what the rules say now.

Full knockout quali, if not sorted by any fastest times, if not by who tried to start a timed lap, if not by the order cars left the pitlane, if not by car number.

Which is why McLaren were calculating how long they could leave a car sitting, idling at the end of the pitlane waiting for a green light (round about 5minutes) ... if it were to go green, and then back to red as cars flew off everywhere, sitting at the head of that queue for longest would mean pole.
