I do wonder how the cultures will clash in the Ferrari. On one side a historic team that demands respect and where no driver is greater than the team itself, and on the other side Lewis which is ....Lewis. If this collaboration doesnt pan out as successful as everyone dreams it to be, we might get the Ferrari/Prost scenario.
If i would get the money to start my own F1 team, i would revive Arrows

But he hasn't driven Ferrari car in simulator either. And I don't think Ferrari would have shared data about 2024 car before anything was signed.

Ferrari won't compete for the WDC so at least we'll have something else to talk about
Lewis seems to think they can, leaving a team he was #1 driver. Also the reports of one of the big reasons for him going to Ferrari is because his favorite engineer, Serra is now at Ferrari and they both agreed on which concept route to take is interesting. i guess we'll see if this is another Mclaren to Merc move
The most importanting thing for me is that Lewis leaves Merc after trying the W15 in the simulator. He wouldn't have taken this decision if the W15 was a rocketship

Regarding Ferrari ofc we can make joke about them
But there're the only time who competed with RB with the F1-75. In fact this car was the fastest at the beginning of 2022
Last year, the team made tremendous progress despite the limitation in the design of the car. They clearly outdeveloped Merc despite finishing behind them in the WCC

Just thinking….

I wonder if Ferrari have said he can be number 1 and the car will be developed for him.

It must be annoying at Merc where in the interests of ‘fairness’ they end up losing out. Redbull rightly put everything into one driver to get results.

I feel for Sainz. From being team leader in Mclaren and almost winning there, to get the dream job at Ferrari and winning twice, to being spat out after just 4 seasons...
4 seasons is 2 longer than most F1 fans gave him. Many convince themselves that Mick Schumacher was replacing him in 2023.

Post-Schumacher:

Massa - 8 years
Kimi - 3 years + 5 years
Alonso - 4 years
Vettel - 6 years
Leclerc - 6 years and counting

So all in all, that's a good run in line with the rest.

He far outperformed expectations that many here placed on him as almost no one expected him to go toe to toe with Leclerc especially to the point where the fanbase was actively going back and forth about comparing them.

If he wins a race this year I'd have to call that a pretty successful stint.

My prediction is that Charles will leave in 2026 because the car won't be competitive.
Lewis will continue like Alo. He has nothing to prove really.
This... I do not believe at all LEC is happy with HAM as teammate(irrelevant he was told before or not).
Don't think Charles has any issue with Lewis.
The problem is that Ferrari has not developed a good car in 5 years.

Duchessa (one of the journalists who broke this news first last night) reported that Charles has relinquished number 1 status but neither will Lewis become the number 1. Equal status once again (which Leclerc has been perfectly used to)

What was the point of the friction with Sainz then if we're back to square one?

Yeah if 2025 car is competitive, both of them will have issues. That's the point.

Because in the case of Sainz, Leclerc was being treated equally to a slower 0x wdc 2x race winner whereas, with Lewis he'd be treated equally to a 7x wdc 102x race winner..

Ofc
But I think there's more hope to have with this set of rule at Ferrari than at Merc. Especially given Merc prefer to listen Russell' inputs

Sure, that makes a little more sense, but it means after all this time Leclerc will continue to not be the centerpiece of the team. Nothing compared to Alonso or Schumacher.

He's still relatively young. Even after Hamilton joins, stays for 3 years and leaves, Leclerc will only just be turning 30 and in his prime. There is still time to build the team around him and from his perspective, I doubt he sees it as a foregone conclusion that he can't establish himself as a team leader alongside Lewis. All these F1 drivers would back themselves against anyone

You are making assumptions. Maybe he wasn't spat out. Maybe (as per long rumours) he had a Audi/Sauber deal in his hand, and Ferrari looked around for another driver.

Can you link a source to this? I don't want to question you, but I haven't seen it yet
