eddstrawF1 Currently dry at Jerez. But not counting on it staying that way! 50 minutes ago by Edd Straw
The track is very cold and green. Red Bulls installation laps are fairly quick compared to Alonso's Ferrari which ran several days.Circuit status: Air temperature: 11 ° C

I'm 80km away at work in Gibraltar, and I can see the road that goes up past Los Barrios to Jerez. As you can imagine I'm gutted about not being there. The weather is holding out here at the moment, although based on the on-off showers we've had over the last few days I doubt the track will be anything but green all week. Hopefully the rain stays away.WhiteBlue wrote:It looks like dry wheather in Jerez at the moment. At least that is what the satellite pic says. The rain probability for the day is 70%. Is someone there to give a report?
Rain brings peace to the circuit
09:55 - Just peace and quiet at the Circuito de Jerez. All drivers have gone inside. The rain falls down on the track, fans pulling their massive umbrellas and wait until the cars go out again.
Apparently there are tyre wear sensors all over the car.gibells wrote:
Never seen that before. The McLaren boys are bringing the wind-tunnel to the track.
Look under the side pod, there's another camera attached just after the end of the barge board. It's all for monitoring tyre usage and behavior.djos wrote:Maybe their radical design isn't quite doing what it's supposed to?
If the car was working well, why would they bother with this kind of equipment?myurr wrote:Look under the side pod, there's another camera attached just after the end of the barge board. It could just be that they're really doing their homework. Maybe looking at the amount of flex in the sidewalls? Maybe something else. Who knows, but now is the time to do it.djos wrote: If the car was working well, why would they bother with this kind of equipment?
PS. Genuine question, im not trolling.
We can argue on that until first few races when we'd see their true form.djos wrote:If the car was working well, why would they bother with this kind of equipment?
