Hamilton really pulled it out he bag. But Verstappen right behind him you know that those first 2, 3 corners will be elbows fully extended outwards.
Especially with Verstappen having the better starts over the season so far.

Love the way Di Resta is trying so hard to emphasise Bottas is playing ‘the team game’ for Hamilton yet not acknowledging in the slightest Red Bull have done the same.
That's because RB didn't put a barn door RW on Perez's car

This, from Ferrari, after last year? Even after the first few races? What has changed? Have they wound the engine up? Just understanding the car further? Full credit to them and CHARLES but just bizarre

With this racetrack nearly impossible to overtake in S2 and Hamilton with that little wing he'll definitely be a threat to overtake into turn 1 after lap 2-3. Good tyre life too

Another thing I’ve noticed. The masks are slowly but surely disappearing.

The start is going to be a thriller. Verstappen will not be shy and not will LeClerc. I can see Hamilton conceding second place and concentrating on the long game. I just hope LeClerc and Verstappen don’t have a d*** waving competition and end up shooting themselves in the foot.

I think it's safe to say one Mercedes won't make Q3 and the other will just about make it into Q3. But we're still looking at a comfortable 1-2 for Red Bull with a 3-4 for Ferrari.
Mercedes are struggling on one lap pace sure.
But I don't think it's that bad as you are saying. They may be 4 5 6 in q3 in the end. But this is not Monaco, and they are genie threat for race win from their Friday long run
I don't think so. They weren't even that far down in Monaco. HAM would have trailed GAS by 1 second if it wasn't for the tow!

PU mode won't bridge the gap fully.
Oops, that didn't age well :wtf:

How do you know it wasn’t Bottas’ preference to try and help himself in s2. It’s just lazy and wrong to say Mercedes are the only team who ever ever does it.

Since Lewis is P2 he will be on the inside I believe so if he gets a really good launch Charles has to be careful on the outside, and if he gets a bad lunch Max has to be careful on the outside.

The team positioned Charles expertly, he got the perfect tow from Hamilton, he was far enough behind in the first and second sectors and(taking advantage of Mercedes double warm up lap) glued to him in sector 3.
