Again that doesn't make any sense. It means it can be your fault (60/40) but if you come off worse the other guy gets a penalty. Dumb.Mattyw wrote: ↑18 Jul 2021, 16:41Well it’s what they decide but I can’t see how they can say ‘ok racing incident’ where 1 of the 2 contenders has lost out as a result - they will try and find a ‘balance’ with a penalty, somehow!Just_a_fan wrote: ↑18 Jul 2021, 16:39It's either a racing incident or it isn't. I'm surprised he hasn't called the police in to arrest Lewis, he's laying it on very thick.Just_a_fan wrote: ↑18 Jul 2021, 16:42Horner briefing everyone who'll listen that Lewis almost tried to kill Max (yes, he didn't say that but that's what his emotional words are inferring).
Why? That one of the contenders is out doesn't make any difference. Either it's a racing incident or it isn't, either it's a penalty or it isn't. Title standings are irrelevant. If a driver does it on purpose, penalise them. If it's an accident / incident then don't.Mattyw wrote: ↑18 Jul 2021, 16:41Well it’s what they decide but I can’t see how they can say ‘ok racing incident’ where 1 of the 2 contenders has lost out as a result - they will try and find a ‘balance’ with a penalty, somehow!Just_a_fan wrote: ↑18 Jul 2021, 16:39It's either a racing incident or it isn't. they used to.... not anymore for whatever reason...
It shouldn’t matter if they were contenders or not. If it happen in the battle for last place, the same rules should apply. That they don’t is usually why most think FIA’s race direction is bs and ultimately ruins the show.Mattyw wrote: ↑18 Jul 2021, 16:41Well it’s what they decide but I can’t see how they can say ‘ok racing incident’ where 1 of the 2 contenders has lost out as a result - they will try and find a ‘balance’ with a penalty, somehow!Just_a_fan wrote: ↑18 Jul 2021, 16:39It's either a racing incident or it isn't. I'm not sure why you are directing this at me, I said Hamilton would get a penalty. I have at no point said it was a racing incident. Give your head a wobble.politburo wrote: ↑18 Jul 2021, 16:42Russell got a penalty for something similar, put down as causing a colison with Sainz when he locked up and understeeered into him at Brooklands, plenty of space on the inside, Sainz gave him plenty of room.
I say let's just wait til' Mazepin or Stroll does it to one of these British drivers, then perhaps the conversation of causing collisions will be treated with respect rather than just shoe-horning "racing incident" everywhere. Raikonnen collides with Vettel racing side-by-side, not a racing incident, but this ofcourse, and forcing driver's off-track if your name is Norris, is.
And if it were the other way round he’d say racing incident.Diesel wrote: ↑18 Jul 2021, 16:43I'm surprised he hasn't called the police in to arrest Lewis, he's laying it on very thick.Just_a_fan wrote: ↑18 Jul 2021, 16:42Horner briefing everyone who'll listen that Lewis almost tried to kill Max (yes, he didn't say that but that's what his emotional words are inferring).
If they'd done a safety car or similar, they'd have been behind it for 10-20 laps and that would have been pointless. By having a red flag, we get a full race.
